As some of you may or may not know, there will be a Major League Gaming GT3 competition this Saturday in the lovely, historic city of Boston. Long known for it's vibrant college scene and some other stuff i forgot, Boston is among the real swell places to have a GT3 comp. One cool point about this is that I've competed in several events with this organization and THEY ALWAYS PAY. I like that
Now on to the distinct possibility of winning some money for your efforts (the good part). A cash prize (oddly in the form of a check) will be awarded for the top 3 placing racers in the competition. The sums are as follows:
1st - $250
2nd - $150
3rd - $ 100
Think about all the glorious friends you could buy with this splendiferous swill.
REGISTRATION is a paltry 25$ for the event. A small price to pay to join the immortals. You can pre-register at www.mlgpro.com, or you can just bring your hard earned (or begged for) bucks to the door and buy your way in right there.
A small FYI; as far as I know there's only one other registered competor so far. What a waste if we have to light our victory stogies with that last 100 dollar check
THE WHEN: Saturday October 9th 10am registration, 11am tourney begins.
THE WHERE: Bayside Conference Center Located at 200 Mount Vernon Street, Boston Ma #617 265 8434, the link is http://www.baysideexpo.com. The Bayside Expo and Executive Conference Center is just one mile from downtown Boston without all the hassle and with plenty of parking. An easy exit off the Southeast Expressway (I-93)--- located and next to the Commuter Rail and the JFK/UMass stop on the MBTA .
A last parting shot for those who still don't believe: While parting with 25$ is not the sweetest of sorrows, I have found it to be worth much more to simply play a bunch of real hardcore racers all day. Some places make you pay $10 an hour just to play some random games against nobody (though usually people bring a friend for some odd reason).
So come one, come all, let's have a ball (I know, that was a bit corny but whatever). Laters and good luck.
