I have a few racecars, C60, 908, 787b, but I keep looking at the R10. I know that powerwise it is probably not a match for at least one or two of the above, but it looks so cool. Talk me into or out of it if you have experience with it, thanks in advance.

I was saving up for the R10 myself, and these guys talked me into a 908 instead, here's my thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=155597

Yeah I think the 908 is a better car, no doubt, but I am looking to spend some money :) I bet you like the 908 a lot.

OP

Dude (I know this is off topic and I should really PM), but I just wondered, were you the guy who wanted the 1990 ZR1 (C4) vette???

I know there's someone who's collecting vette's, think it might be you..

I got one going spare if you want it, I'm fully booked on gifting cars for a few days but maybe at the weekend....???

Let me know..

No, I was looking for the C2, found it a couple of days ago, but I thank you anyway for looking out. :)

You already have the 908 and 787B, so why not get the R10, if you're not going to spend it on another car. They're all great cars. :)

Good point, I was really leaning heavily in the direction of buying it, and so I actually did buy it :) And you are right, it is a great car, just did a few test laps around the ring with it, very torquey and it looks great. will be getting to know a little better in the next few days, at this point I give it a thumbs up.

What I've been doing, is grinding B-Spec Dream Car Championship.
5 races with championship it nets around 1 million credits.
With that I get a full cycle of used cars {30}
If there is a race car of any kind, I buy it.
Got the 905, and a bunch of others.
My feeling after buying the R10, is yeah it's got a cool sound, but
is not as fast as the Minolta, or my 908.
I have not had a chance to drive any other the cars I've bought yet.
The R10 feels heavy and sluggish.

I passed up the chance of a 908 in the Dealership... oops. Haha.

The 908 was the first car I snapped up, then I took it out and beat "like the wind" with it rather easily and got my Minolta 88c (what a powerhouse that one is) :).

I've got the 908, 787b and the R10. I'm biased towards the R10 as I'm a big Le Mans R8/R10/R15 fan and I love the way the car looks. I mostly like to use the interior cockpit view when I drive, and the R10 has excellent external view while driving (although the view is pretty low to the ground as expected). Everyone is right that the 908 and 787b are both much easier to drive and the R10 is a handful at low speeds or on bumpy roads like the 'ring. Even on the straights the R10 is slightly slower. Go get it if you have the cash to burn.

The R10 is sluggish, yes, but thanks to the fact that you can short shift it (it's powerband is down in the 3000-5000 range; shift at 5500, not 8000), you can get great fuel mileage out of it. I use it for timed Endurance Racing where going as fast as possible isn't the objective, but simply being faster than everyone else is.

It'll get the job done though.
