Means nothing. A car can look like anything. All the retro whatever on the Mustang and the Challenger doesn't link them to the original cars besides visuals.

I'm looking forward to this Audi. I wouldn't call it irrelevant at all. If you want a comfy road car, you'll have other options. This car, hopefully, won't be built for that. It's different sitting in something that is purpose made for one thing, and I honestly prefer that feeling.

Ok I can agree with that. The tech is different... now I see. But I can't wait for this car gonna be cool.

...It looks similar but isn't the same at all, other than looks. But hey with the logic let's go down that road and say yes they are the same because of looks. If you look at the actual dimensions, the GT is bigger than the 40. Also, try to use something actually irrelevant the Ford GT isn't, it only cost 1/10ths of what the R20 does so yeah.

And that stabilising fin looks atrocious, looks like someone's stuck a sheet of 8x4 ply on the car. :yuck:
 
So the GT is a streched GT40 lol just joking. But I understand clearly now people. Moving on I would rather the Audi to have a V10 but a V6 is good also.
 
Saying that an R18-based road car won't work because race car based road cars didn't work 20-50 years ago doesn't make much sense. The GT40's, R390's, don't have bearing on what Audi can come up with these days.

This is very true. Audi is a beast in LMPs so I'm pretty sure they are gonna put years of work into this car.
