Yes you did. 👍
You just "disagreed" that the R8 is sucky in GT6, because it's good IRL. And then said it's screwy in GT6, after saying it's not. Kinda.

Are we reading the same thread? Pretty sure I agreed that the car sucks in GT6, which is a shame since it's such a good car in real life

But yes, it's a damn shame the car handles the way it does in GT because it's such an awesome car in real life.

This car requires you to learn how it drives, and to tune it to meet your driving style.

Not every car's default set-up will suit everyone. For example: The default set-up for the Z4 GT3 works for me, as I am still trying to crack the thing. Is it my driving that needs to be adjusted? Or is it the suspension settings, or the diff, or the aero balance?

I only increased rear downforce to 830, which seems to make braking and correcting spinouts slightly easier.

Increased downforce should work, otherwise try softening the rear spring rate and anti-roll stiffness (haven't had a chance to try this myself yet but should help)

I found using the opposite setup of stock works a bit. Either both ends of the toe angle in or out helps as well.

Use soft tires in the rear and mids ins the front it fixes this problem on all mid engine cars that have this problem its the only way I have found until PD fixes this issue and its not the driver for all the people that say there nothing wrong with the cars if so why didn't they handle that way in GT 5, 4,and 3 not to mention gt5p

"This car requires you learn how it drives" is synonymous with "this car is really difficult to drive, because it has handling quirks". The R8 LMS is un-raceable stock, not even by the best drivers in the world.

Which is why everything on the car is adjustable, not every driver is the same.
So, basically, you're saying PD set the car up to be undriveable stock, on purpose?
Let me guess, GT and PD are perfect and everything about GT6 is amazing to you, too, right?

Do you really think I know why PD put that set-up on that car? Besides, I have no issues with using the tools available to me to have the car just right for me.

And no, GT and PD have proven that they are not perfect, but GT6 as it is right now is what GT5 should have been.

If a virtual car that is not suited to your driving style, go get a different one. and If that doesn't do it for you, go get a different game.

I've found the best way to drive the gtr is trail break and lock the rears slightly

I just found that setting the rear camber to around the 0 - 1 range and the fronts to 2.5 - 3 helps a lot with the understeering issue. PD seemingly has gotten the camber settings backward where more camber leads to understeer and not oversteer.

I think the SLS sounds great.

I also think people who come into "Gran Turismo 6" forums, and start talking about real life instead of "Gran Turismo 6" are lost.
I thought the SLS was pretty accurate, it's just a bit muffled like most of the sounds are.

You guys must work for PD's sound department. That, or no one informed me that the SLS GT3 has a V12.

Why not just copy your setup from the LMS to the Ultra?

I've gotten competitive laps out of mine, I'd rather stick to my GT-R though.

Listen to this:

It sounds like this in GT6, except it's muffled quite a lot. The cockpit noise sounds very similar though.

Decided to give myself a challenge and chose to tune up the R8 LMS for the iA GT3 championship instead of choosing the easy way out with the M3 GT (which is actually a GT2 car). With the same power, gearing and downforce as stock (so only suspension and differential tune) I managed to find another 2.5 seconds around Suzuka (faster than some stock GT500 cars) and have been winning the championship races by about half a minute.
The car is still not an "easy" car to drive but is now more like a "driver's car". Probably shouldn't try to late brake with this car, rather get most of the braking done before turn in and use the car's 45:55 weight distribution to lead the nose into the apex with a tiny hint of oversteer and then power out of the corner asap.
This tuned R8 LMS now ranks up there amongst my favourite cars that is both rewarding to drive and wont hesitate to let you know when you're being an idiot.

Wanted to see how much of a difference I could make by copying my R8 LMS tune to an Ultra and turns out it works rather well! Still have a bit of fine tuning to do but so far with some small adjustments to spring rate I've managed to improve my stock Suzuka time by 4.5 seconds with the much improved handling characteristics. That said it is still 1 second slower than what I achieved with the heavier, less powerful and lower PP R8 LMS but am still pleased that the Ultra is now finally drivable.

All I hear is a furious V8. Not the V12 sound sample that the SLS has in the game. Go listen to the Aston Martin Vantage V12 and the Ferrari 599 and you'll know what I mean. And those cars sound correct.

I really don't know how you're perceiving a V8 in the game's SLS.

Trust me, it's just muffled a lot. Listen to onboards from both real life and GT6, it's not that far off.

I'm perceiving that it sounds like a pissed off stock SLS. I think it sounds great, I don't know about it's accuracy.

Tips (real, working):

Adjust brake bias (7 front, 3 rear)
increase front spring rate stiffness. This will prevent dive.

Little bit extra: increase front damper/shock-absorber stiffness

Has everyone on this thread driven the R8 LMS Ultra with enough laps that you need to change the tyres? Infact you dont need to wear out the tyres to change them, do 3 or 4 laps with the 1st set of tyres then pit and change for the same set. Fuel will also be added so you would in essence have the exact same car as you went out the pits the first time right?

Well car feels so much better on 2nd set of tyres. It is very strange, I didnt even have a setup for the car as I just wanted to try it out. After noticing how much the car was effected I was just put off this car for now until PD can fix it.

If you guys dont believe me just try it and you'll see exactly what I mean.

Hope it helps

Positive rear Toe helps me the most.
Combined with stronger Deaccleration settings of the LSD and a softer rear suspension compared to the front.
After a few Test-laps I normally get to a good setup.
My testtrack for "those" MR cars is HSR and mainly first turn. If it spins here I have to change in almost every category :D
