Anybody got any ideas as to why my Audi R8 has suddenly become highly unstable over about 200mph?. It used to drive great at high speeds but now it's undrivable. I changed some tranny and ride height settings for a couple races, but I've changed them back to normal. At the high speed ring it will do 255. B-spec Bubba can drive it steady and solid as a rock, but if I'm driving it veers suddenly off course and slams into the wall. Even if I haven't moved the wheel at all. It won't drive straight and is uncorrectable unless you can get slowed down under 200. It also does this regardless of what kind of tires I'm running. This does not happen with any of my other cars so I don't think it's my wheel, although it is an older wheel and seen better days.

How often do cars have to be refreshed? I think it depends how many times you crash them and how many miles are put on them. Any race over four hours seems to wear a car out. When I first started playing around with the 2J I must have had to refresh that thing a half-dozen times since I was always smacking walls.

I also wonder if the need for refreshing varies from car to car or the courses they run on. One thing that surprised me was after I B-spec'ed 24 hrs. Sarthe in the Minolta Toyota, I could hardly drive it at all in A-spec. It handled like limp spaghetti until I refreshed it. Yet it was lapping like a banshee at the end of the Sarthe race.

Yep, our B-Spec drivers don't notice the worn-out chassis at all, but we sure do...
