Audi Rs6 = The new skyline basicllly

The new AUDI rs 6 which has around 450hp 4wd with the quattro steering system is silmilar to the skyline hicas sytem. This car totally out perfoms the skyline. I like skylines but a 450hp twin turbo AWD sedan is tempting. It has paddle shifters along with the standard hand shift. Does anyone else liek this car?
 
well I mean I'd rather buy that then import a R34 because the audi rs6 price tag is only 80 grand and out performs the r34 for less the price.
 
And you say it's cheaper at 80 grand, thats about 55-60 grand in pounds sterling, you can get an R34 imported here from Japan for alot less than that. Although buying a new R34 over here would've set you back £55,000 when they were on sale.

I can only see a 13% better acceleration figure, for 14% more money.

The Skyline is a big, heavy car. What is the Audi doing with that 60% more power it has?
 
err... So what actually is the new "skyline" because people have been saying it's the G35? :odd: G35 is the 350z? Why would the Z take over as the skyline, makes no sense to me?
 
The Facts:

There will never again be a Nissan Skyline GT-R. Nissan have separated the brandings - Skyline is now applied to "luxury" saloons - the Skyline 300GT, for example.

The Nissan GT-R will be a continuation of the Skyline GT-R legacy. The car has not been officially announced yet - the one in GTConcept is just a concept (hence the name).

Um...Nissan [V35] Skyline 350GT. :)

I thought Carlos Ghosn already confirmed a V8 powered 400 hp Skyline in the works. ;)

Yes Famine is right, it will be named Nissan GT-R or Infiniti GT-R (at least in the USA.. noted by the president of Nissan motor). Anyways he also says that the New GT-R wont look anything like the concept, we wont know what it look like until there is a real concept of the GT-R maybe in 2005-2006 hense the production of the GT-R in the year 2007.

Also the quattro isnt like the ATTESA system of the GT-R, at least i dont think so.

The first one was the ATTESA E-TS computer-controlled all-wheel-drive system. Unlike many contemporary 4WD systems, it did not introduce the undesired understeer or corruption of steering feel. Instead, the GT-R cornered with RWD car's throttle adjustability and neutrality to inspire its driver. On the other hand, whenever necessary, the Skyline produced 4WD car's level of maximum grip in corners. How could it manage that? Skyline employed a computer-controlled multi-plate clutch to vary the torque split between front and rear wheels. In normal condition, the GT-R was basically rear-wheel-drive. Only when it need extra grip to corner, the multi-plate clutch would transfer torque towards the front wheels. The amount of torque to the front wheels was calculated by computer. The software setting was the outcome of extensive testing in Nurburgring circuit of Germany, no wonder the 4WD system worked so good with the car.

Another high-tech feature was the Super-HICAS 4-wheel-steering system. Again, it was controlled by computer and was benefited by the Nurburgring testing. Rear-wheel steer helped sharpening its steering response and kept powerslide in under control. No wonder the GT-R cornered like a much smaller and lighter sports car.

Yeah thats the 350GT (G35) it is the new skyline. I think Famine meant that the new GT-R will never use the skyline name again. At least that is what i think he meant...

No Carlos Ghosn, president of Nissan, hasnt confirmed a V8, last article i was reading he says it will use a V6. I guess we wont know until the production GT-R comes out or at least the concept of the 2007 GT-R. Im sure it will produce around 400hp or more... as Carlos Ghosn said "It will be a rival of the Porsche 911 Turbo."

The Infiniti G35 we know as in the USA is known as the Nissan Skyline 350GT in Japan. Its the exact same as our USA G35, no real difference beside the name.

The G35 and 350z is basically the same. In the Best MOTORing video it compare the Z33 (350Z in USA) to the Skyline 350GT (G35 in USA) its very much the same. I hope i make sense. :lol:

the times for the audi seem a little high, all the tests I've seen done seem to be in the 4.3 to 4.5 (at the most) sec range... and I have heard the skylines ride is pretty bumpy:( I would take the audi anyday......I think they do the best interiors in the buisness:D

You're going on base prices. To get a Skyline in the US, you're paying $95000 new, about $10000 more than an RS6.

And thats without removing the boost restrictor, or fixing the ECU with its 85% limitation :D

I think you all have a few screws loose, you are actually willing to pay 80 grand to motorex to sell you a car when you can buy an R34 in japan for like 30-40 thousand then pay the 25K to legalize it and thats only 55-65 thousand dollars that leaves 25-15 thousand for mods, If you are stupid enough to pay 80,000 just because you are too lazy to find your own then by all means do so.

Yes i notice. They are like twins. The 350z to me is a sporty verison of the G35(skyline 350GT). For that reason, the 350z is alittle stronger than the G35 8hp more 10 ftlb torque more and is a two seater. Making it alittle better for track use. I also like the 350z look better. For some reason the front and back of the G35 dosent suit me.
