Just raced the Tourist Trophy and it's the first time that I have used my TT 1.8T for an extended period. I noticed that on full tune, the turbo actually loses boost leading into a gear change, falling from 2.0 bar to 1.0 bar as the gear change takes effect. Any TT owners care to comment, is this how it happens, or is it just a screw up on Polyphony's part?

I'll have to check that out next time I sit down at the PS2.

What do you think about the TT? It's one of my favorite cars in GT3. Somehow it's just "fun to drive". I don't race it much anymore because I've moved up into the Professional and Endurance races, and the TT just can't cut it in those leagues.

It's a good car to drive, but even with 404bhp, it sometimes seems a little, well, sluggish. I know it has power sapping 4 Wheel Drive, but it just seems to have problems getting the torque to pull away quickly. Who knows, maybe I'm just spoilt by Skylines and Supras and Escudos? :D

As far as the car goes, its a gadgethead's paradise, and the quattro system is a real bonus, I can see why VW nicked it off Audi (It's the same system they use in their Synchro models, try and find a Golf 4×4 Syncro (mark 3 only I think), heaven in a hatchback :) ) I would like to know how the car lost 4bhp in it's migration to the PS2 though, the dual exit exhausts signify it is the 225bhp model, yet it comes with 221. Sounds trivial, but those four horses could make a difference in a close run race!

Most factory turbocharged VW/Audi cars taper boost off as rpm rises, at least in the current generation cars. When stock, my Jetta peaked at 9psi and slowly tapered to 7psi at redline. Now my car peaks at 23psi and slowly tapers to 14psi. This is mostly due to the tiny K03 turbo used on VW/Audi 1.8T engines. Cars with the slightly larger K04 turbo usually see less boost peak and less tapering. The 225TT has a K04 variant, normally peaking at 12psi and tapering to about 11psi. A chipped 225TT peaks at 20psi and drops down to 17psi.
