Guys, don´t you think you Mods, are being too severe with the people around here?

There´s some people getting posts banned that would easily be avoided with some simple editing.

I know various people left the GTP with moderators being too hard on them.

I know you guys will try to delete this thread, and I am risking my neck here, but something must be made.

I hope Jordan sees this.

Well for one, putting this in the right sub-forum might help... but here, I'll move it to the proper location.

We very rarely ban members over a single post, as those are extreme circumstances. A member often receives numerous warnings and/or minor infractions before getting to the 30 point total required for a ban.

Quite frankly, if people have a problem with following the AUP, they shouldn't agree to it upon signing up.

Thanks for being kind SlipZtrEm.
I meant that peoples threads are being deleted/banned. Not the user itself.

Some kinds of harsh atittudes by the mods could be avoided by a simple editing.

I don´t think you mods have to ALL THE TIME follow the AUP "BY THE RULES" so dense as I am seeing.

Afterall, we are all humans here, not machines to be that strict.

We enforce the AUP. It spells out the forum rules. Any post that violates the AUP can and will be on the receiving end of moderator action.

If they have been banned over a sinle post, it is likely because they have a history of bad posts, and the post in question is the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

I know various people left the GTP with moderators being too hard on them.
That's their choice. They agreed to follow the AUP when they registered with the forums. If they choose not to follow the AUP, they can leave. There is no middle ground.

We do not ban people or delete threads because we disagree with them. We ban people and delete threads because they violate the AUP.

I hope Jordan sees this.
I think there's a little bit of a misunderstanding as to exactly what role Jordan plays around here. He is not some archangel who can save you from being penalised for violating the AUP. He wrote the AUP, and he has charged us with seeing that the community as a whole upholds it. We were promoted to moderators because he believes that we would maintain the forum ina way that reflects his vision of it.

Yes, we do.

The game just came out, so there's naturally going to be an incredible influx of members looking for information. GTP has always been a fantastic place to go for all information on all aspects of the game. The knowledge base is astounding. For the most part, I'd also say that the personalities are great too! Protecting the image of being a 'place to go' should be important and now is best and most important time for moderators to be a bit more heavy handed with what they choose to let slide or not. The many people who are getting their first look at GTP right now should be greeted with forums not trashed up with immaturity and lazy posting.

Ok SlipZtrEm, you are right, but hey, you know and I know, my grandma knows that not everyone reads the entire agreement before signing up. And with that some tiny mistakes may happen, nothing too wrong, just innocently, for exemple, someone post their blog. You know what I am saying...
And other minor infractiongs my occur but nothing made with BAD intentions, you know?
That´s what I am protesting... =/

Every time I've seen a new member not follow the AUP, it's always been followed by a moderator giving them a friendly nudge in the right direction. When they don't listen and continue to post in a bad manner, then an infraction will ensue.

The moderators are doing a hell of a job in my opinion!👍

My post are deleted only if I post one link of my own site, where I put my videos and photos of GT5.

What is the topic of this forum? I posted something related to another issue nothing to do with the subject matter in this forum? "NO"

So why delete my post, instead of just asking for me to edit and make the link?

Even more ....... get a warning about something that is totally ridiculous! Since posting any kind of link to websites such as YouTube, Flickr, Vimeo and others, you are also instill the same forum of other users to browse external sites!

Yeah okay, I agree with you.

But as I am seeing friends of mine leaving the thread something happened today that made me create this thread.

A friend of mine, take all day long to edit a video he captured in GT5 and he was so excited that he posted the video in a free hosting website, the imageshack, I think, then, innocently at the end of his thread he said that he was creating a site with some pics he posted of gt5 and some vids he captured.

People found it fun and the discussiong was getting healthy then, all of a sudden, the thread was deleted.

He had no intention to exclusivelly promote his site, he was not even promoting anything, his "site" was said just as a side note. =/

Well, because of that, all the discussion and the video he would like to show was banned.
This can make anyone mad. =/

I have no intention to fight anyone here, I just wanted that this kind of things were not as strict as it is being lately.

That kind of infractiong could not be easily edited with just deleting the url of his site? It was really necessary to delete the entire thread?

Don´t you guys agree? =/

Chances are if they are getting infractions/bans because of small errors(grammatical or whatever they may be) they have been warned about it in the past and haven't changed their habits. It's kind of like speeding, you may get a warning the first time you get pulled over, but if you keep getting pulled over for speeding they will suspend your license.

As for the AUP, most of it is "Would you say this infront of your grandma? If not than it's probably best to not say it" kind of thing.

BMWorld, the reasons why you theead being deleted were explained to you. Twice. It is not an invitation for you to open up a discussion with the wider forum community. This is a disturbing trend that seems to have evolved over the past week: if someone disagrees with moderator action, they start a thread about it because they seem to think that getting public support will somehow have the decision reversed. If you wish to discuss the reasoning behind moderator action, then please contact the moderator in private. If you disagree with the moderator's explanation, then approach another moderator or an adminstrator. Do not create a thread about it in full view of the public - warnings and infractions are not administered by public vote.

Interludes my friend

You just commited a wrong move.

You just PVT me with this:
[redacted by mods: keep PM's just that, private.]

Threaten us like this is so ugly.

Yes, we are friends but not the same person.

What a shame....👎

I´ve just sent to the email of BMWorld the threat I received from interludes and my response to it and BMWorld thought it was sent by interludes.

Now you can think we are the same person by we are not you can check our IP and psnid and so on.

This kind of threat is serious and ridiculous.

Will something happen to that guy, the interludes?

Shame on you, my friend, shame on you...

I am not threatening you. The fact of the matter is that I don't know either of you. Put yourself in my position - you see two accounts that post similar content, that have similar avatars and both come from the same city. What would you do? As a moderator, I'm compelled to investigate this because there are too many parallels. Any other moderator who saw it would do exactly the same thing. We will run an IP check on both accounts, and if they come up the same, both accounts will be banned. If they are different, no action will be taken. You seem to think that this is some kind of personal crusade. It is not. Multi-accounting is banned under the rules of the forum; thus, when I see two accounts with a remarkable number of similarities, I have to look into it.

interludes my friend, you are making a HUGE mistake.
I must say it again.

I doubt that other mods would threat the same way you threaten just because of same city and "similar" avatars! We are just friends!

HUGE injustice being made here.

You edited my post with your threat but was not able to edit the link of my friend.
That make things just more nasty.
