Hey boys. Had a good time with a fair few Aussies and Kiwis at a recent Lan in Victoria. The set up was great and the way the points and pools were organised was fantastic. The best Lan set up i've seen to date.

Looks like we need to get you and Joe Racer over here one year. Shame the photos don't work, but it sure sounds good. Thanks for posting that, Rypien!

💡 A Suggestion: Hey Rypien, I don't know if you met up with any other members of the GTPlanet community while you were there. But maybe the next time you find out about such an event could you put up a post about it here? Chances are some of the Aussies and Kiwis on this board might want to join up with you there! ;)

Careful, he's good ^ :nervous:

Shame that the picture links seem to be broken - would be great to see what went on over there! Judging from the results, however, it looks like it was a full-on weekend 👍

This might be the pix you want

There is a distinct air of betterness (is that a word) to this LAN compared to the UKGTP's.... look at the bloody trophies.

Someone tell Famine.....

I love it, they had to "cap" their number of attendees to 24......

I wish we had had that problem.....

    👍

Wow, good effort chaps! We certainly got our work cut out for us over here to top this. I do however have one concern..............

.............. wheres the beer? :(

Spec....

Pretty impressive. I noticed a distinct lack of 'Ruf birds' mind.

I probably should have posted a link for the regular GTP aussies in this section of the forums. I'll defaintely do so if Drew hosts another Victorian Lan. Mainly post a little bit of stuff in this GTP thread though - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=71188 I've had the pleasure of racing with a fair few quick GTPlanet members like Small_Fryz and VTRacing. Shame most of you guys live in the southern states.

Sorry the pictures in the links seem to be out atm. Hope to find out whats happening soon.

Having a small 3 player Lan tommorrow and hope to get a bigger grid on the 28th. Gotta luv the Lan :)

Casio - i'm sure the guys would love to have you racing with them. Got lots of good drivers down that way with a few quick veteran OLRers like Prancing Horse (from the old GTF), the alien from the GTBN CrazyHorse, Clanks from the Playstation Forums, and a few other guys who have been around the OLR scene for a fair few years. Most of us old blokes don't run much OLR these days but do enjoy some Lan fun. Having a fast bloke like yourself running would be cool and i'm sure you would enjoy it 👍 Shame holl01 is such a hard man to get to come. I know Joe Racer wanted some ESCW revenge :sly:

    👍

I hope your not implying that your trophy was inadequate? It was after all filled with jelly beans!!! Plus i don't see anyone leaving with tshirts!!

It does look much more professional than ours tho. Would be interested to know cost differences.

@ Cracker. If you wanna pay for this 'RUF bird' to attend the next one, just pm me! 💡 👍

:guilty: Its got to be a few years since I've posted at the GTP, its good to see a few more Aussies roaming the GT boards these days.
Thanks for gathering some interest in our little get-together last month Rypien, it looks like I'll have to be a bit more friendly and post up invitations to the next few events here also.
Guys, I'll look into why the links to the photo's have been broken and get 'em fixed, I need to catch up with Albert Park anyway 👍

Nice picks! Are those racing rigs "home-made" or did someone buy them from 3rd party commercial dealer?

Pretty sure Drew and one of his mates made em all up themselves. Very nice units indeed and a pleasure to drive in.

Rypien:

Thanks for the info!
Whoever built them did a fantastic job! They look great and really comfortable!
