Anyone else find this ironic?

March 701 (raced by Jackie Stewart, entered by Ken Tyrrell)
→ Tyrrell 001 (Ken's first F1 car, team raced its oen cars until bought out by...)
→ British American Racing (raced from 1999-2004/5)
→ Honda F1 (took over operations until Honda axed the F1 programme)
→ Brawn GP (present).

The March was the last first-ever F1 race team to claim a pole (1970). The Brawn GP is the latest.
I never noticed, but now that you mention it, it's very 'six degrees of separation', isn't it?

I don't think anyone has the outright pace to match the BrawnGP.It will be a matter of tyre wear and soft/hard management. The rest of the points will be the main interest, between 4-5 brands.
Of course the 1st corner could be the ultimate deciding factor on all those placings, as the field may be desimated and stretched.

It's funny; yesterday, they were reporting the Brawn actually performs better with more fuel for some reason.

Have you a winner for the season-opening race? I usually go with Lewis Hamilton. But with all the tidbits on McLaren being off-pace, I'm only 60% confident in picking him to win. Actually, more around 40%.

you sir have alot of faith in the man to even say that high. im hoping vettle will win (lets go Fantasy F1 team) followed by a surprising second place win by nakajima (what? it could happen....)

I have in mind only four people to win:

Barrichello
Button
Rosberg
Vettel

These guys in my opinion are the ones who have the best chance at winning. Also, Does anyone besides me find it ironic how F1CE, a F1 game based on the 2006 season, will have its servers taken off in the same year the new F1 regulations take place?

I found out this will be a twilight race. I consider twilight as a night race, so interesting setup. Not sure if this is about meeting European times or not (like the Singapore event), but I'll now be very interested to see how this shapes up. And I said 40% because I have such a heavy heart at times. I just didn't want to say that he stands no chance at all. I'll need to watch as much of this race as I can to see how the new cars perform. I missed Practice and Qualifying.

[ETC.] Did anyone see the new Formula 1 intro and song? They did away with the circular track and replaced it with these lightning bolts and laser shows and such. Rather exciting and much lovelier intro.

Thanks

Chris

It's on, my peoples! New season underway!

Rubens.......Rubens....

I can't believe how many bleedin adverts are on my broadcast. Grrrrrrrrr... missed the Hamilton pass.

F1 changed to the BBC for us, no breaks. :D

Vettel and Buttons lap times are much faster than the rest of the field so far, they're moving!

Barrichello chasing down Rosberg chasing down Raikkonen...great fight for 5th at the moment!

EDIT: Rosberg and Barrichello have caught Raikkonen, but Barrichello got some damage doing his stuff...I think it was his front wing's corner that went. Raikkonen's in as well.

Barrichello showed no matter how good the car is, the driver is the one making mistakes.
And he broke the wing again!

Vettel is chewing down buttons lead but has less fuel.

Both rarris pit, so does hamilton.

Now Massa's in, he had Kubica, Rosberg and Barrichello chasing him and Hamilton's in too. McLaren have heavy fueled him, surely, that pit stop took 12 seconds.

Didn't the guys I mention a coupple of races back doing exactly what I said?

Nakagima wrecked.

Kazuki Nakajima with MASSIVE front damage and debris on the track! Ouch... No safety car, though. At least, not right now.

[UPDATE] Safety car out now.

That seems stupid took nearly 2 laps for the cars to form again...

Back on! However, Nelson Piquet's beached out of Turn 1 in the kitty litter.

Piquet around in sand.

How good does that safety car sound?!!!

Did Button get a Nitrous shot off the grid? I've never seen a car leave the field trailing like that before! :scared:

He may have been the first one ready or brake checked the others.

Speaking of boost, On the main stretch if they use KERS for the straight and pass the line that should mean they get more than 6.67s, on malaysia it may be a huge advantage.

arg how could nakajima wreck like that? he was my under dog. come on vettle for the win.

Barichello choked hard. Jeez.

Can't wait to see how dominant RBR get when they implement an "adventurous" diffuser. Ferrari and McLaren need to go back to the drawing board.
