Have any of you had a bad experience with the damn auto drive when you go into the pit? I did. The other day I was doing a 20 lap race around Cote D'Azur with my F1 car. Somehow I let my tires get a little to worn and on my way into the pit another vehicle rearended my causing me to fly backended into the pit. Now if you know anything about Cote D'Azur then you know that the pit lane is one car width wide so when I entered the pit backwards the Autodrive took over. It kept trying to turn my car around in that narrow pit lane with no luck. It took the autodrive 7 laps to get turned around and pitted. This put me 4 laps behined every other car in the game.

Nope, hasn't to me so far. At least it wasn't an endurance race. The Blue Coast pit lane is very small. The only bad thing that has happened to me there was the Autodrive hits the row of tires on the right side of the pit lane. This has happened a couple of times. No big deal though.

I had a similar experience, except another car hit me as I was going into the pit. This actually made me go down the lane slightly quicker resulting in a pit that took about a second less.

The whole incident thing hasnt happened to me, but I do enjoy pushing the AI into the pits from time to time ;)

Just never enter the Laguna Seca pit at over 250km/h...;) Your car will just go SMACK! straight into the wall.

Gotta love the way you can run the AI right into the wall that separates the pit area on SS-5, SS-11 and Test Course and they'll just sit there for the rest of the race :)

The first time I raced at Laguna Seca I did that. As I was entering the pits I said to myself: I'd like to see the auto drive negotiate this turn. It never occured to me that I would just run into the wall.

Amongst other things... :D

I did a race where I wanted to fix the result and ended up trapping 3 of the AI cars permanently and making 1 pit (on a 3 lap race), allowing the last one to get 2nd. :D

It's actually on my site :D

Try this on for size: entering the pit in Seattle Circuit and being hit sideways so the auto drive makes you drive forward and backwards till it gets all the way around, lost 3 laps on the group that way. I was driving a GTone for that race.

no, the worst is *if* you end up going backwards into the pit lane in Super Speedway. That is a LOOOOOOOOONG pit lane if there ever was one!

I remember doing it on purpose a few times when I wanted a specific series car and the same guy kept getting 2nd every race. Take him out a couple times and you can quit the series really early. :)

I've had the auto-drive screw me up a few times at Monaco, but it works itself out. I think Laguna Seca is the place I got stuck permanatly once.

Seattle 2 is the best place to dock crash cars. Seeing as how im a Chevy fan and all, I always take out all of the C5R's competition to make sure he always has a good finish. Punting the Shelby Cobra makes me happy though ^^

Just today I knocked one the other cars into the pit wall, so he was stuck on the first lap. I left him there for the rest of the race (10 laps). My little sister got a kick out of that.

:odd:

now that I'd like to see... :)

You haven't done it before ving? I haven't either, never even been in the Test Course pits, but it's what I think the shortest pits in the game for the fastest track in the game...

I also remember getting stuck like this on Apricot Hill in Gt2 I believe. Hopefully they will improve or eliminate the Autodrive in Gt4.

sometimes when i set my cars for drift the auto drive cant handle them and they loose control around corners:D

That'd be really cool if the camera swiched to overhead when the auto drive kicked in, and you could see your car pull in and watch the crew change the tires.

In Pro League you could have a 17-sec pit with a bunch of guys in cool outfits, but in Beginner League it should have one or two guys in greasy shirts monkeying around with an air wrench while you have to pump your own gas.

Although I'm not going to bother hoping it'll happen in GT4...

that happened to me on GT2, had a '63 Stingray fully built & went to pit row at 220+mph, by the time it got down to 65 i was on the entry ramp to get back into the race - on the oval track.
