man!!! its 2K3... everyone has cable, or dsl or whatever u want to call it..

all i can say is get with the times...

I play AM, it's a great game. Physics in the game are just fine. Just because it doesn't match GT's physics doesn't mean it's bad. The game wasn't intended to be Realistic, it's cel shaded for cryin out loud. And thank GOD you can't play it on a 56k, the gaming for High speeders would be sooo awful. yeah, I said it...56K'ers RUIN BROADBANDERS GAMING!!!

I'm getting this game tomorrow...

Does it really suck as some of you guys say?
Can you play with the car... for example: drift, burnouts, 360´s?
And are there skidmarks?

it has a thing where you can set your car to an auto drift setting and yes you can do burnouts and I never noticed if it left skidmarks.

AM ain't that bad I would have kept mind if the uk version actually kept the online playing ability I would have played it at work were I have access to broadband internet. my reason for not keeping it was because after completing the game there is pretty much nuthin left to do :trouble:

I like it, it's an arcade sort of game like Burnout, but with 6 cars racing on quite tight twisty courses, including uphill and downhill mountain passes. The game isn't as serious as Gran Turismo, it has customization etc which looks cool, but it is mostly all cosmetic, although you can get performance upgrades too. The good thing about the cosmetic customization is that you can change it whenever you want. It's rather easy though, but there are quite a lot of races, although there is very little challenge, and I played the game in a crazy looking Trueno.

Yeah it only took me a few hours to beat it, and yeah after that there isnt much to do but comming up with bad ass custom cars and showing them off online is still kinda fun, and well I'd like to see some of you guys beat these times that some of these kids have set.:trouble:

I had it for a while. It was sort of fun, but the switch between Gran Turismo style driving and that style was waaaaay to difficult for me. I don't really drift unless I magically pull something out of my rear trying to save a corner that I went in way too fast. Plus, I'm not really into the whole cosmetic customization thing, which was a big part of that game. I did choose a few different parts of kits, mainly side skirts, and the changes weren't drastic.

I'm tired of outlandish body kits. I'm tired of kids having unpainted, primered body kits. I'm tired of seeing most of the kits falling off, or put on wrong. There are a few body kits out there that are nice, but those are few and far between. Most cars look fine coming out of the factory.

Did you play it online, cuz if you didn't then you don't know what you are missing. That is where all the real fun happens.

I don't know what you are talking about, you can't even compare the games, one is cel-shaded and the other isn't, the GT series has been around since the original playstation, AM hasn't the last time I checked. I had GT3 way before I bought AM and I still enjoy AM alot, don't compare it to GT3, just look at it as a game. You can't possibly think it was going to be as good as GT3 could you? (If you did you are an idiot)

 charger's right, they are not for comparison.
even though it hasent been around all that long it is the FIRST cell shaded racing game.

I agree with these two. I still haven't seen a racing game that is as good as GT3, that doesn't mean that they all suck just because of that, and once you play AM online, it totaly makes it worth it. I would have bought it without the online feature, but that just makes it much more fun, and a much better game.

man but could you imagine Gran Turismo's cars physics and detail with customizatation feature similar to AM man that would be one sweet game.

That would be one sweet game, but can you imagine how much time you would spend just tuning up your car, cuz if it was a GT game they would probably have just as many aero parts as they would cars, and you would never be able to decidie what you wanted your car to look like. You would probably never get down to the racing part of the game :D

I hope not. That would suck ass.

no it wouldnt, since GT4 is online, that will be nice that way you can be different.

Ya know what I hope is in GT4 a paint thing, so that you cant paint the cars you win/buy cause I have some cars i wont drive because they are ugly or not the color I wanted in the first place.
