First off, I'm an Auto Trans junkie when it comes to GT3. I've just never gotten around to using a manual in GT3 because I've never needed it to perform any of the drifts I've done in the past.......UNTIL NOW!

I've started practicing controlled 360's and I'm getting pretty good at initiating, controlling and coming out of the strait BUT I'd say 3 times out of 4, after I complete the 360, the car won't go again until I get it under like 10 MPH. The car sounds like it's broken (best description I can think of right now) and the gear indicator just flashes really fast.

Once I fall under 10MPH, everything kicks back to normal.

Why in the world does it do this? (not that we can change it, I'm just going to have to learn to drive manual and drift now) :dunce:

I used to drive auto as well... but never attempted the 360 spin in with it. If anything I would try holding the car in 3rd (once it starts shifting down and gets to 3rd, hold L2). Hopefully your revs will also be high enough to keep those rear tires spinning.

Well, from what I can tell, locking the brakes is what allows me to spin in 360's while still going in a strait line.

Basically as the car starts to whip around for the 360, as the car starts to head sideways down the strait away but it's going in the right direction, I lock up all the wheels so that there is no more steering input or anything, the car does a smooth 360 spin and as the nose comes back around to the right direction, I apply the throttle again.

When the throttle thing works, it's fun as hell, but when it does what I described in my first post, it sucks cause I have to slow waaaaaaay down after coming out of the spin and then take off again.

Actually, got my ideas from IDM's video magazine, you can tell in some of the 360's that all 4 wheels are locked up and the brake lights are on for the spin.

Hmm.. Interesting.. I'm going to go try that 4 wheel locking now.. 👍

Yeah asking people should I try to drift in Manual or stay Automatic. I've never driven in Manual but I think I should try.

i use to drift Auto but i reckon i can get heaps more control wit manual. as in like if ur revs seem a lil low u just shift down n keep the wheels spinning. but thats my opinion anyway. i use to find that wit auto sometimes it doesnt shift down when i want it to or the other way around so i found it hard in corners

I think your engine dies if you hold the e-brake too long.
I'm not holding the E-Brake....just the regular brakes. I've now tried doing this with the MR2 and the MR2 never does this to me.....wierd. Oh well.

For me i don't like using the e-break while doing a 360. For me i find that It cuts off the engine, and so when you regain traction, your RPM's are very low.

the 1st time i played this game, i used auto too, but once i tried manual, got used to it, i found out that you get more control over the car, so my advise is to use manual.
