I think there is probably a difference in the way that stabilty and traction management are programmed between the game and real cars. In the game, I imagine that asm and tcs are programmed to help you go fast and stay stable with taking as little speed as possible. Where in the real world, these systems are likely to be programmed for saftey, not speed.

I only use the aids when i'm using my DS2.

actually the fastest, most talented drivers in the world do use driver aids, until they were banned ( Formula1) and they produced very fast very stable cars i hardly think anyone would disagree with me here on this...
Well yeah, of course… notice how I conveniently left out race car drivers. ;) They use it because they're running many, many laps, and need consistently fast laps. OLR (OnLine Racing) drivers, on the other hand, need 1 fast "magic lap" – they don't need to consistently be fast, and of course, a mistake doesn't mean that they could be killed. Anyway, getting that 1 magic lap is easier without driver aids (I guarantee the fastest times ever posted for GT3 were all made with driver aids turned off – again, you can consult Famine or a few others about that ;)).

again you misunderstand me i never said i disagree with famine or anyone, OK?!

ps-I used a stock Skyline R34 Vspec '99 with S2 tires on Tsuksaba Circtuit and i got 0.59.537. thats without aids. i agree it does let you go a bit faster on the more stable cars but on the old overpowered american cars for example it is simply impossible to keep control of the car and be able to make a fast lap at the same time!

what did i say without thinking? i havent said anything false in that post have i? didnt think so.

It was the "you don't know what you're talking about" part...

c'mon people leave out the arguing and lets hear peoples opinion,
i rarley use driving aids unless using mosters like speed 12 like famine said, way overpowered cars are too easy to provoke driving aids in this case would probarbly help you get faster times then without.

i havent tried turning off the aids yet, but they do get slightly irritating. think its time for me to remove them and have a challenge
