Any mention of autocross in GT4? I think it would be pretty damn cool.

But not before powered toilet seats.

AutoCross, no way!!! We only need TARMAC-EATING Monsters. I even couldn't understand why they had to put WRC cars in GT2, but i'm enjoying it know as long as the the game isn't focussed to much on the rally-element. But i'm not saying that i don't like watching WRC on tv though..........

Err, I think he means the kind where you lay a track out with cones in a car park or open space like that.

well, if he means that kind of autocross............i think it would be a really good idea.

Yup that's what i meant, what's that screen from? GTC?

Thats one of the school mode tests in GT4P.

yea autox, would be good, gt just keeps getting better and better, cant wait till they put drift racing on there, where you get judged on style lol like NFSU only real graphics.

What do you mean you can't wait, they might never put it in.

From most of the things i have read drifting events will be in GT4. But back on topic, yea i think auto-x would be a nice feature for like practice and what not.

well i mean i cant wait, cause if theyre not on this one they willb e on the next one, they are trying to make it the most complete racing series out there.

A while back someone mentioned (in reply to many many posts about wanting random tracks and track editors) that they could do an auto-X track designer. That'd be neat. Just set you up with a huge slab of asphalt and perhaps some shapes to link together. Or even a freeform line drawing tool.

I played with an old Disney rollercoaster designer program ... 10 years ago that you could stick pieces of track together to make a full coaster. More advanced version is Rollercoaster Tycoon. It could be as simple as that. Or even more simple, it could be like HO model railroad sets and keep everything flat. But rolling hills and such would be lots of fun.

With the reversing bits, that's more like gymkhana than autocross, but that's the basic idea, anyway.

For a long time I've thought that GT4 should just include the basic racing game like GT3 minus the rally section. Then they should use the car models to do specialty versions: GT4 Rally, GT4 Drag, GT4 Drift, GT4 Autocross, etc. for cheaper prices. That way they could get the competition formats correct for each sub version, since the main development was already paid for by GT4. And I would never be required to drift or drag race, but people who wanted to could, without having to rally or autocross.

Actually you're not really required to rally in GT3, now are you? They split up everything quite nicely there - a separate licence, and a separate race series. If they keep it like that, fine. :)

Spliting GT up in to numerous games would suck. GT games have not REALLY ever changed that much content wise, and I'd be supprised if they ever did.

If you want 100% completion, you are.

I actually love rally driving in GT3, I just hate the format. You can tell that they didn't spend the time to develop the competition format correctly.

I would happily pay $40 for GT4 if it was straight racing, then also shell out 2 x $15 for the rally and autocross modules. That makes for a definite $70 in sales and a potential of $100 (assuming 4 x $15 special modules) instead of a one-time $50 sale for a single game that includes half-baked versions of all the parts above.

That makes so much sense. And they could go on to do many other forms of GT. This seems similar to someone's suggestion that they should license the GT engine for use in other games.

what would cost $15 for you would end up costing us £30 :P

Sounds like an issue of reverse conversion (: But don't you think it would be worth it? Ha ha ...

Gymkhana is in. Gymkhana is like a hybrid aX/drift event.

By the way, "that kind of autocross" is the only kind of autocross there is, Dirk. ;)

I belive Id rather have rally in GT4, because if they made GT4 without Rally and plain racing, then it wouldnt be $40, dont even count on it, it'll still be $50 and if you want other "add-ons" in which they proably wont be add-ons both seperate games they'll also be $50, because GT is a very popular game and if they split them up like that, we'll have to wait for a GT game for a very long time, why? because there too busy making other games... So IMO focus on everything in the game, focus on Rally a bit more etc.. If they made them all sperate they'll deff make more money, but IMO, it would be pretty dumb to back off now and take things out of the game.. when so much has been added... Keep what you have and expand... Keep GT the way it is and make it better, add new types of racing etc... make it a huge game where everythings in one package.. id rather waste $50 on one game with everything, rather than $50 each for 3-4 other racing games.. why waste more, when were getting a great deal now...
