So, I'm thinking its time to expand the library, and I'm open to suggestions! Not looking for anything but books related to automobiles (preferably of the technical and performance variety), I'm hoping someone can suggest a book or two that is worth reading.👍

Also, if anyone has these, could you care to comment on the material covered?
Street Rotary by Mark Warner

Forced Induction Performance Tuning - Practical Guide to Supercharging and Turbocharging by A. Graham Bell

Turbochargers by Hugh MacInnes

Street Turbo Charging by Mark Warner

Turbo: Real-World High-Performance Turbocharger Systems by Jay Miller

Four Stroke PerforMANCE Tuning 3rd ED by A. Graham Bell

I'm familiar with the "Turbochargers" book. Had the chance to read some of it in a camp where a guy, gear-head, had many books of the sort including it. I found it informational and easy to read though I remember it being old, so there may be outdated stuff.

Haha Already in the archives, excellent book, probably the best on driving period. (Taruffi's is good too.)

Just checked the publication date, didnt realize how much of a dinosaur that book is. Compared to how much has changed in the 25 years since it was published atleast.

The book is no longer in print, but you might be able to snag a hardcover copy on ebay or Amazon;

Colin Chapman, Lotus Engineering: Theories, Designs & Applications

Some copies are very expensive...but every now & again you can find one for $2-30 from someone who doesn't know what they have. Highest I've seen is $1600.

So it's not only an interesting read, it's an investment if you decide to sell it later. Ayron Senna's "Principles of Race Driving" is another hit-or-miss rare book that belongs in every car guy's collection. Some copies are expensive, others cheap. Keep a lookout.

The Art of Racing in the Rain. Fiction. Auto/racing related, but has general appeal as well. Superb.

Looks like a good leisure read, thanks!

I havent heard of the Colin Chapman book, I'll have to keep an out out for a copy. I saw a copy of the Senna book for ~40 ish earlier this summer and regret not jumping on it. After the Senna Top Gear episode, the prices have gone through the roof. (btw I recognize the handle from FM2/3 hows it goin man)

The Carroll Smith books. Some of them are relatively old, but lots of good information nonetheless.

I have Tune, Drive and Prepare but some how missed Engineer. Thanks for bringing that up. I wonder how much the material in Prepare and Engineer differs.

Looks pretty dope, I may need to snag a copy.

Thanks for the suggestions folks!

so this is basically confined to "racing How-too" books? i was gonna reccomend a thorough coffee-table book covering some of US automotive history. it's got info and pics from anti horse scaring attachments for horseless carriages, to pics of the prototype and early production Vipers (runs aapx 1880's to 1994)

if you Europeans think american cars are huge NOW, you've never seen a 65 Galaxy Convertible or a 30's Cadillac Madame X Imperial with a 16 under the bonnett!
