Available to join. Team NRG drifting.

Heck no, the same does not apply for drifting teams... don't compare what you do with your team with what you think should be done with a drift team. Tuning is the same, not comparable.

For clarification, what should be done with a drift team?

You for example put people through auditions, a lot of drift teams put people in trial periods in which the person is observed for skills, personality, attitude, etc. We don't just look for skill, the person has to have a good personality, since a lot of the teams are pretty old & are like a family. Another thing, we don't force people to use certain tunes, every member has the choice to use whatever tune they feel more comfortable. As teams, there's lot of stuff we do, host events & comps, participate in comps, tournaments, team battles, themed events, open sessions, etc. & mainly we like to keep drifting fun, a lot of teams that focus on just being competitors end up failing.

My advice was to join a team, build relationships here, and have your skills reviewed by your peers. I did point out what I do as an option, but by no means the standard. I fail to see how my I advice doesn't apply to either discipline, but it's whatever. Can't help those that don't want it.

I don't know where this came from. At no point was this implied, although if anyone on your team can use whatever tune they want, then I'm even more unsure what your role would be on the team. Perhaps as management or something, as you yourself said you're just the tuner and host of the room, and provider of cars (which anyone can acquire here using the Marketplace).

Hmm, maybe I should grab some popcorn... :sly::p

Nah, it's not like that. Just unclear of the original request, and offered wrong advice...

par, actually.

Being a leader of a team doesn't mean you have to provide the cars nor the tunes to your members, that's not how things are done in drift teams & basically that was the biggest mistake by the OP, him wanting his members to drift his cars, his tunes... you can't drift something you're not comfortable with. The leader's role is seek for talent, keep the team organized & together, organize events, meetings, battles, etc. & even so, drift teams leaders always ask their members if they're ok with a decision so that everyone in the team is comfortable with it. Making decisions because you just want to is not accepted around here & that's how it should be everywhere.

lol it started cause you quoted him on post #27 and he thought you were talking to him

If your not a drifter how can you tune them?

all my best drift tunes are grip tunes on comfort tires, so its up to the driver to drift the car

i myself drift with cars i tuned for touge on sports hards, when i drift i put on comfort hards or softs and i have a very controllable drift car i can get more angle from. i don't know about the poster but thats my style.

Seriously...

Hell no, that's the most stupid thing to do if you want to drift.

well your a redsun? then you know klutch, maccer, badboy and wynter92. they run touge with me, drift just like i do and they are on your team.

Yeah but the cars they drift are drift tuned. I do drift but I also drag & race & I never use grip tuned cars to drift, it's just plain stupid. Grip tunes are supposed to be designed to keep the car going straight while drift tunes are designed to keep the car going sideways without getting back to straight mid-drift.

no a grip tune is to have a controlable car, if you tuned like that you'd have a car with fatal understeer. maybe the fact that i run touge and we run on sports hards is the factor you cant grasp, so if you dont modulate throttle you get oversteer and if you maintain the oversteer posture you go sideways through the turn as you countersteer to drift. and its touge, some times the quickest way to clear certain corners is to latebrake or weight transfer and drift it.

OMG, you didn't get what I meam  Of course grip tunes are to have a controllable car but compared to a drift car which is sideways while driving it, a grip car is meant to be straight while driving it. Didn't think it would be that hard to understand....
