I need to know if I can reduce avatar sizes drasticly? I am trying to make a 100X100 avatar that has animations...

This is what I currently have:

Unfortunately, it is MASSIVELY oversize.

I have tried cutting it down into only two of the animations, however, I could only get it to 3500, by using only six blocks.

75X75 is what you have now, and it only decreases it 10kb.

Thats what the new dimensions are, thats the new "gift" to people with over 200 Posts.

And please don't post to say stuff like klos's post. I need help, not your opinion.
 
I ran it through Fireworks, but the best it could do left the picture using only 2 colors...and it just doesn't look very good that way. I think you're only option is to cut down on the dimensions or the frames. :(
 
maybe if you use less images? your animation seems to repeats itself... you could use a shorter version? i don't know... maybe that'll work... looks nice, though!
 
I thought saying "Make the dimensions smaller" was a suggestion.

Maybe I live in some weird universe where that is not a suggestion.

well i think 75x75 is just fine, but that doesnt mean im not taking advantage of the 100x100 limit:D

anything smaller than 75x75 is hard for me to see, having a 15" monitor set at 1024x768 and all.

I tired that too. I cut down to just the first set, (front clip) and the interior. Still it was too large... I can't figure this out. Many people have avatars with about the same ammount of frames...

Oh, well. I think I can find a different way to do this. Mabe I will just leave it at my current one, just resized.

I ran it through flash to make it, so I assumed any other image software wouldn't do any better job...

Thanks for the help though.

Well, you've got tons of identical frames, so drop those out, and you'll have 100k right there. (You can retain the length by changing the delay at which each frame is shown. Right now, it is set to 1/10th of a second in your version.)
You also have way too many frames of animation in general for a 100x100 sized avatar. You'll probably not get more than 15 or so frames out of that size (you had about 60)
Try shrinking it down a bit, 100x100 is nice, but smaller can look just as good. When I first came to this forum, I believe that the avatar size limit was 64x64 which wasn't all that bad.
Also, try not to dither, it doesn't really save space, and just makes everything look washed out. :( (At least, don't dither until the absolute final version...)
Here's my best attempt at keeping the general feel of your original whilst keeping to the 35k limit. :)
 
Thanks... I havn't done much avatar making, just flash animation so I didn't really know what to do... Using Gif Construction set, I could only get six frames into a gif using 100X100 size and under 35 K.
 
Here's an Idea if your really into saving this avatar as you have visioned it.

1.) Cut out all unnecessary graphics like the ground, people, signs...ect. Go with, in your case, probably a black background.

2.) You could also continue to photoshop the graphic where you might have unique, but not entirely necessary colors behind the glass of the vehicle.

(Do these above edits before you begin to animate it.

.......The idea here is to minimize the total number of DIFFERENT colors in your image.

3.) Then you can slow down the frame rate and reduce your frame count. You can then start to delete different shades of color as a last resort, then maybe even dither it.

Something to keep in mind.

What increases your file sizes are the number of different colors you have in each frame. The demensions of the images are of less concern if there's less colors to process.

Take MistaX's "HAXOR" avatar I made in Black and White, that's 26k and 75x75. His avatar is over 70 frames... I could have achieved the same results with any combination of two solid colors.

Hey Pako, if you get a chance, can you please fix mine up a little. Like make it 100X100 and/or more detailed. If you don't wanna/can't do that, could you combine the current one with the same type of one with the Atenza/6. Thatnks Pako.
