I have a colored (sepia) and a b&w version of my avatar, both of which have transparent backgrounds, but for some reason the site displays them with a white background instead. I've tried saving them both as .png and .gif's, but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Easiest thing to do is just fill the background with the forum color.

I can whip one up for you in a couple minutes if you want me to.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to copy the forum color exact? It seems to work in posts, just no my avatar. If you want to help out, use this one. Thanks again.

What is the file size of them with the transparent background?

Also, to get the color for the background, print screen this page and copy the color of the area surrounding the avatar space.

Thanks!

Also, my PrtScn button doesn't seem to function...

That's odd, if you're on windows 7 or vista just use the "snipping tool" it's just as easy.

Edit: Here's a slightly better one with the area under the wing colored in as well.

I've done this before and the colors were off slightly.

I do it for all of my online series graphics and never had an issue. I think the main post area is 243/243/243 in the RGB scale, then the avatar area is 229/229/229.

Hmm. On a different forum for a signature image I print screened page with the post area and then used that for my image, and when it was complete and uploaded etc it was lsightly off from that of the original. IDK, unimportant now, just wondering if anyone knew.

This can occur depending on the type of image format that you use. Different image compression techniques will often attempt to use the "closest match" of a color that they support. This is often good enough, but when paired side-by-side, the colors won't match up (this is one reason JPEG files are not particularly suited for graphics).

Might of been what happened. Thanks Jordan.
