Well, Gian gave me the idea. I already had posted the full pic of our '92 Mazda MPV V6 minivan doing about 100mph(looks less cause of the angle), so why not make it an avatar.

So just for the hell of it(which is the best reason to do anything), please post pics of speedometers at high speeds(even better if you took the pic). Please list the car and senario cause it's interesting.

:O

Well i might as well post the whole pic here... :)

The story behind this is that my brother, sister, and a couple other people went the the Keys (a small chain of islands on the lowest tip of Florida) a few weeks ago. In order to get there, you have top cross a huge 7 mile-long bridge. My brother, whom took everyone in his 2002 Ford Explorer SportTrac, decided to get stupid and hit the 100 mark in his truck (which was possible thanks a to a new chip he installed a few days earlier).

And don't worry, there's hands on the wheel. They're just not in the picture's range.

Awsome! We drove down there in 2000 to Key West, also in our MPV. We hit about 95 that time, with 5 people, luggage, and the roof top carrier, on Alligator Alley. The Keys are beautiful but when we went there was a fair amount of traffic.

100mph at 3,500 RPM...pretty tall gears. In our MPV 3,000rpm is exactly 85mph. 100 is about 4,000. Fun stuff to know cause in the MPV you can't see the speedo from the front passenger seat...I was in the middle seat when I took that pic.

Yea there is I guess, but it was slow moving. Alligator Alley was pretty carless when we went.

Ohh, here's the huge pic and story about it that I posted in my vacation thread.

Taken in our MPV as we were being tailed on I-10 in Louisianna. We went about 105 that time but I couldn't take another pic fast enough. The top speed for the trip was a blazing 112 or so MPH because this nut in a Gran Prix cut us off. Also we did about 108 when this old bat in a Town and Country tailgated my dad as we were doing about 90mph. So my dad floored it for a bit but there was traffic.

Umm, If I were going that fast in my car I don't think I would have time to mess around with a camera. I have had my SRT-4 up to 152 though.

So what good are you? One should only stop talking on their cell phone at 150.

You could just get your digi-cam ready, and put it on tne steering columb with it aimed. Then get up to speed and take the pic. Though it might not work...

I used to have a picture of my Trans Am's guages when I was going over 150mph. I also had some pictures of my friend's GTZ's guages pegged, and at an estimated speed of about 140mph. Also had some pictures of a friend's Accord's guages at about 127-130ish while trying to chase down a guy in a Viper who kept toying with us.:D

I could get a photo of the B2000 redlining, but it would either be travelling at 0km/h or about 40, so it isn't very interesting.

Do it anyway. I'd like to see it. Though I've been in a B-2000 at the red line drifting through a junkyard...

Okay Mazkid. I will be leaving on a massive road trip on the 31st. Part of my travels will have me on I-75 in the UP of Michigan. The road is straight, level, in the middle of nowhere, and it is usally devoid of any other vehicles. I should be able to sustiain 150+ speeds long enough for my bro to snap a pic. If you all can wait that long that is;)

I can wait that long as long as I'm promised not to be dissapointed and if you actually deliver the goods.

:)

'Natch. I promise you won't be disappointed, I really have taken that car to 152. All I ask is that everyone be patient on the proof, it would suck to go through the trouble (and fuel) and not have anyone look at it.

I'd look at it.

If Shinez were here, I could show it to him then ram it down his idiotic whiny throat after he said the fastest front-drive car topped out at 150.

The one in the attachment;).
It's only 1.3 liter but goes very well.
You know the highest speed limit in Finland is 120km/h so...

I took that pic myself when driving :D.
And 150km/h is just about 93mph.

Heh, cool. The back looks quite Protege 5(323 wagon) like. Nice car. Good driving skills with the camera too! :)

Alright, I got the B2000 up to roughly 6500 to 7000 rpm, but inadvertantly moved the camera away before it took the pic, so you can only see the bottom of the rev meter.

I did however get a pic of 5700rpm.

Just making them smaller at the moment...

If you compare the position of the needle in this picture with the next one, you can get a rough estimate of where it was.

I've only ever gone up to 6 grand, and where I went taking this picture was higher, I could tell by the engine note, but I was concentration on the road..

This photo was in 1st gear...
