Oh, and they also had a little special on the 'future of drag racing'. They said that we've pretty much acheived what is possible with big V8s as far as pure speed. They say that safety is limiting us more than technology is.

So, they showed the next stage, the four cylinder dragster. This thing was nuts: 4.7 liter 4 cylinder, block cut from a single block of aluminum. That's right, no water cooling in the block. It was friggin' solid! With the twin turbos and nitromethane, the prototype was running about 4,000 horsepower.

My dad has done plenty of burnouts in his Charger and has had no problems with the Tranny. He has done alot with my car too and owes me a set of tires :irked:...

I've done my fair share of 'burnouts' in my T/A, and I've had no tranny problems, but that still doesn't mean that I'm not tearing the tranny up little by little everytime I do one.

well I do it a lot in the Stang and thats why I need new rear tires. They've gone up in smoke!

When we did an overhaul on the Charger (my dad got bored :D ) we took a look at some of the tranny and drivetrain parts. Nothing was wrong and nothing was really worn...

so that wrx in the picture is spinning all four wheels? i doubt it. it would be the wheels with the least weight on them. there would be maybe 3 spinning but not four. i have done donuts on wet, smooth concrete in an 86' patrol turbo diesel with all four wheels smoking and the noise from the wheels fighting each other was really horrible. vibrated the crap out of the car too.

Actually, the WRX is probably just spinning the rears most of the time, but it will spin all four - just not all at the same time. ;)

I'll try to get a video of the one I plan on doing when it's time for new tires. ;)

ive seen a few really nice wrx oversteer videos. "brrrrrop brrrrop brrrop" ah, boxers sound beautiful - they have the same kind of crack a V8 does at high rpm. i dont know why people jam those huge fart cans on them.

Me either. My plan is a Stromung single tip, but the tip is only like 3". Beautiful sound...mmmm
