Awesome Gallery View vs Awful Gallery View?

What Gallery View would you prefer in the Dealerships?

  • I want the Gallery View from the Vision GT AMG Concept for all the Dealerships.

When I first saw the Gallery View in GT6 I couldn't help wondering what on earth PD were thinking. :boggled:



PD staff member 1: "How should we show of all the Premuim cars to full effect?"

PD staff member 2: "I know, let's make a bland concrete box with dull lighting, & then display them without any anti-aliasing."

Kazunori Yamauchi San: "Yeah! That sounds like a great idea, let's do that!"

Then today, I looked at the Mercedes Benz AMG Vision Concept in Gallery View, & guess what? It's totally different from the one in the Dealership! It has nicely detailed stone walls, brilliant lighting, great camera angles & panning, & they seem to be running huge amounts of anti-aliasing to top it off. It looks awesome! :drool: Even better than Auto Vista in FM4 in my humble opinion.

I so wish they would have the awesome Gallery View from Vision GT in all the Dealerships as well. Go compare both Gallery Views, then come back & vote on this poll, tell me which one you'd prefer.

Also it would be nice if we could walk around the cars and make pictures.

But you can! That's one of the most enjoyable things in GT6. In photomode you can walk around a car and having 2 cars you can compare is great! Now if we could open doors, hoods and trunks that would be supreme.
I even did a full lap walk of the Nurb. Took some time.

I miss the GT5 gallery view (although it wasn't called that at the time). Made you feel as though you were in an actual showroom, more or less. And the different backgrounds allowed you to really see how the car would look under different lighting conditions.
 
I haven't looked at the MB VGT gallery view yet, but the gallery view for the other cars could definitely be improved. Why not an auto saloon setting? Or some of those gorgeous sceneries from GT5: that rock formation, the meadow/ruin thing, the park and the city street.

Actually, anything is a better scenery than the Hitler's bunker they're using now.
 
@OP I had the same thought not 5 minuets ago.
 
The gallery view is awful. The lighting ruins the color and there is very limited view.

GT5's was much better since it let you see the car in a completely white background, or choosing different lighting. That helped see the car in better detail depending on the color you chose.

The best they could do is a gallery view like the one the VGT cars have.

I don't remember how VGT gallery look like, but anything else than the ordinary gallery view would be much better..
 
I miss the garage from GT5. The one we have in 6 is so dull and lacks any info. In order to view an owned car in gallery you have to switch to it, or even look at its stats like miles driven. And even then the gallery view isn't great. I'd be happy if they at least brought the GT5 style car view and larger thumbnails for cars.

There is "streamlined" user interface behind this step. They just released so desperately needed ram with this so called simple gallery...
 
I think they did it so that the load times would be almost instant. The lighting is crap though, making yellow look brown, the anti-aliasing, or lack thereof, looks like PS2 gfx, again, more crap..

On the plus side, it does load super fast. I think they could make it load fast, and still look tons better than the ugly scene we have to look at now though.
 
@BWX - The Gallery View for the AMG Concept loads just as fast, this is what confuses me, as there's no need for it.
