What with all the Senna content in GT6, I thought I'd dig out my Autocourse '85 review of the season and grab a few scans from it. Yes, we know all about him now, and what he went on to do in his career, but it's interesting to see what was thought of him then.

Driver top ten. He made No.2 behind World Champion Prost.

After his qualifying performance at the European Grand Prix at Brands Hatch.

Qualifying from the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

And on Team Lotus and the 97T

Sorry for the blurry bits. The book is too big for my scanner.

I also know it probably shouldn't be here in the GT6 section, but it gives a bit of history as to the track selection with Brands and Monza.

I love the bit from Monza qualifying when he arrived flat out at a chicane "because he forgot it was there."
What a crazy situation.

In the challenge I didn't know what to expect, broke 100m too early, accelerated again then flew off backwards.

@daan ... Thanks for bringing this to light, but I'm curious. Who was your hero at THAT time??? I find it great that you remembered these articles, but was this your first time to recognise the talent he had? Just cool to have your own perspective on it since you brought it up.

Cheers

I feel like they don't write about current drivers with such sensationalism. That guy must've been the real deal to watch in person.
