Uh ok call me Noob as you like. But how do I lvl my 2nd B Spec racer without re-racing the races I have won at gold lvl?

You have choices to make. You can start a new driver at the higher level but he has less chance of winning. Give him too much power and he can't drive the thing...grrr.

My question is what is the advantage of having several drivers?
Why not just stick with 1 for the entire schedule? How do the points work? Is it better to have several drivers around the same level or do you just give 1 all the experience?

Endurance races will require more than one driver.

Driver performances also has three distinct states which will change from time to time (yellow down arrow, green straight arrow and blue up arrow signifying below average, average and above average driving 'grades'). So when one of your drivers has a yellow arrow, you want to have others available to race that are in a better state.

To level up your new drivers pick a higher level race that is not to hard to win and give him a good car for it. He will level up quick and easy in the higher level races. The Veyron in the French race is a good one for example as is the daytona speedway race in the supercar event if you give him a really fast car.

As to the question of more than one driver.
1: Your drivers will go through periods where they are not quite up to par indicated by a orange arrow and times when they are better than normal indicated by the blue arrow. You want to use the driver in the best condition to win.

2: Once you get into the extreme races you will find that you need 2 drivers to complete them as the races are long enough that the first driver will get to tired and stressed to do it alone. He will pit and the second driver will take over.

3: Once you get to the endurance races you will need a team of 4 drivers to enter the race and each will take a turn during the race. Normally if you have 6 drivers there is a good chance that 4 of them will be Green or above but not always.

The multi driver races also allow you to level up all more than 1 driver at a time. I have 6 and all of them are between level 25-27 so I always have a good driver in the blue ready for any race at this point.
