Last time I asked for help with this race event in A-spec, now I need to know what car is best for B-spec.
And preferably a car that has more HP than my opponents, since B-spec is a bit.. meh..

I waited very patiently and won the Toyota 7 then went gold in both A-spec and B-spec in one shot. B spec will help to have the Turbo upgrade. The other helpful hint is to make sure Bob has enough level points, just because you unlocked a race means doesn't mean your level 5 Bob can win a level 21 race.

I won both races with my guy in the Jag XJ13, so it IS possible to beat the Toyo 7's & FJ's in a car OTHER than those two. :)

I was able to pretty consistently coach my guy to a silver, but a 7 always beat me.

It took MANY attempts to finally get a fortuitous starting grid with only one Toyo 7, which started way in the back. It fought its way to 4th in one race and was a hard-charging 2nd in the other. Woulda caught and passed me if we'd had one more lap. :)

I was just grinding this race in the background as I worked on other stuff since I wasn't at a level to run "Like The Wind" and get my own Toyota 7. Just got lucky. Unless you're in the same situation as I am, it's much less frustrating to just get your own 7 for free and beat them that way.

2j makes it pretty easy, you still have to guide him tho

Is there a brain upgrade for B-Spec drivers?

I got the 2J, and I tried with three different drivers. Got each one within striking distance of the leading 2J and they each hit the inside wall in the Chicane coming down the hill out of the tunnel. EACH DRIVER did it. For extra points, I had one driver also hit the inside wall on the last turn onto the front straight. Do they interpret "Overtake" as "Smash yourself and throw the race"?

In A-Spec I won it easily in the exact same car.

2J with all the power upgrades and I believe soft sports are the stickiest you can do for b-spec. My bob was 19 (the required for the race) and golded with ease. He's 50/50 (cool/hot).

In the chicane right after the tunnel, yes. Never overtake there, try instead to cool your driver down a bit so he can pass through the chicane smoothly.

You should only attempt an overtake at the casino (uphill section) and at mirabeau, those are the best spots to cut it.

I won it with the Toyo7 using a level 16 Bob. You have to start prodding him with the pace up command at the start to get his disposition up. Then keep pushing the overtake button EXCEPT just before the corkscrew and the tunnel. After the pool (chicane) keep pushing the overtake button. I also made sure I was in a grid without the 2 Chaparrals in front of me. I had only the 2J in front of me for this race. My Toyo7 was in 1st after the 2nd lap. You have to keep prodding Bob and if he starts to skid sideways, leave him alone for a bit until his disposition goes to about 3/4 red.
Aerodynamics a couple of clicks below max. Transmission to max of 177. LSD: 20,40,30. Brakes 4 front, 3 rear. ride height a couple of clicks above minimum, springs: a few clicks below max, dampeners: 8, sway bars: 6. camber:2.5 front, 1.5 rear, toe in: .02 front, 1.5 rear.:nervous:
