i dunno y everyone is upset with b-spec. it sounds like a good way of doin things. cant wait to use it for endurance races to get the big money!

You know, I have so far done two different races while sitting on the toilet. And I've done several races in 1/3 the time it would have otherwise. B-spec is nice.

Hi all,

I'd like to use the B-Spec mode to drive the 24h races, but have a problem with the game speed. Once I start the B-Spec mode, I push the R-Button to switch to the other view. Then I accelerate the game speed with "X3" which means the game is three times as fast. Unfortunately, the game speed jumps back to "X1" after about 10 minutes. Does anyone of you know how to avoid that?

Kind regards,

Carsten

The X3 is not exactly X3....more like X2.4. I did the 24 hr du mans II race in B-spec mode (in X3) & it took just over 10 hours. It should have been just over 8 hours. 432 laps & 55 pit stops. I really like the Bentley (did Nurburgring in 5.42 with that car).

i dont know if this has been said, but also, gt4 was made for people who didnt purchase the game racing but for collecting cars and stuff. I remeber him saying that somewhere. Of course the only way to unlock cars is ( i heard about this) by doing races. If you dont like, thats ur problem. there is nothing you can do it but not play the game. FORZA IS :yuck:

Well, my one experience of B-spec so far was to try the 2 lap BMW M Race at the 'Ring. My mildly tuned M5 (2 lots of weight reduction, a new ECU and a wing) seemed to be permanently stuck behind the opposition so I exited (I do have 274 B-Spec points now though). I did the race myself and won comfortably in about 16:04.

Don't you think it might be useful in the extrememly long endurance races? Certainly you couldn't race 24hrs straight ;).

Muahaha! Gotta give props to AE86Driver........because that is exactly what he did last night!

(Race 24 hours in a-spec mode straight....alone, no help.

Everyone whining about B-spec amuse the hell out of me. It's just a different way to play the game.

You like apples? Most people like apples. You love apples. When you die, you want an apple tree where you're buried. Hell, you want to be BURIED with apples. Then one day, someone offers you a pineapple. You love apples and immediately dismiss the pineapple as being rubbish. Nothing can beat apples.

It's the fear of change. It's a unique new game feature that has never been included before. Of course some people are going to ***** about it.

If you want to race, that's your perogative. But one of the highlights of GT for me is watching the replays. The replays in even GT2 beat the living hell out of every other racing game. Now there's a mode where I can sit back and watch the gorgeous graphics, and actually have some input, rather than just watching the graphics. That's a good thing.

Plus, with a wife and kid, setting aside 24 hours for an endurance race is impossible without game saves. B-Spec is going to save my ass there.

I'm eager to try all modes. B-Spec will be fun, I have no doubt. And as a photographer myself, Photo mode is going to be a blast.

I totally agree. If you wanna use it, then use it. If you don't , then leave it. I personally won't use B-SPEC mode, but i acknowledge that some people don't have the time to do a 24hr race endurance. As you said, it's a nice way to enjoy the graphics of the game and have input in your driver as well. (mmhhhhhhhhhhhhh....appples!)

I'd personally hand Bonedwarf a Gold Medal for that statement. And what was it I've said countless times on GTPlanet? It was "give it a chance." I can't speak for myself sometimes, but if (for example) you went to a restaurant, and when you heard of something delicious, do you pass it up, or do you want to try it out? And B-Spec IS a way to get more people into GT. I've talked about "something for everyone" in past threads and replies, and I tell no lies in this game. Not everyone is the best racer. That's why there's B-Spec. I'd recommend this to anyone just getting into cars and/or motorsports. When you get the feel of B-Spec and want to challenge A-Spec, go for it. It's there for a reason. You want to beat the game and you're not a great racer, two options. B-Spec, or sell the game to somebody else. You dig that? Give it a chance. I've already heard the criticism about the AI doing the driving for you. Hell. If you're not a great racer and you're not ready for the nitty gritty of Gran Turismo, B-Spec is about your only hope. You'll still have to race, but you will be able to coach your AI racer to being the best. You can mentor your AI racer to win the race. If you want to be a Gran Turismo champ and you're not A-Spec material, B-Spec is the way to go.

All in all, not everyone is at your level of GT dominance. This game isn't made exactly for you, but for those who wish they were as good as you are, even if their level of talent isn't exactly that of Michael Schumacher. Consider EVERYONE.
