I've searched for any threads that might detail what I am experiencing, but since it's a very odd topic I wasn't able to find anything. I apologize if this is a re-post... if it is please direct me to the right location and lock this thread.
Ok, so I've noticed these strange clicking sounds coming from my speakers in GT5 B-Spec mode. As far as I can tell, it is very easy to notice if you leave the camera view in the default "movie" mode so that it is like watching TV.
As cars pass the camera, and the camera moves to follow the cars, I hear what sounds like clicking (as if it is coming from the camera itself). I might be crazy to think this, but it seems as though PD was trying to capture the sounds a camera / cameraman might actually make as they were filming a race / adjusting their cameras. That's the only explanation I can think of.
I hear the same sounds with the volume turned down (the clicking sound quiets as I lower the volume), so it's not like I'm overpowering the speakers or anything.
I believe it's part of the audio track in the game, but it drives me nuts! I can also hear it when I rev an engine during the pre-race countdown, especially if the exhaust is facing towards the camera. Again though, the distortion remains even with the volume down low... it's just a quieter distortion.
Blu-ray's seem fine... a couple XBOX games crackle here and there, but I can't tell if it's part of the same problem or a poor audio track in the game (the new Medal Of Honor makes crackling noises as rounds impact near me, and Forza 3 has always crackled on popped on tracks like Sebring)
My audio setup is proper, but not completely high end. Everything is using high quality speaker cable with banana plugs, and everything in my setup is hooked up to a power conditioner to make sure there isn't any noise coming from the wall outlets (I've also swapped out my cables since noticing this sound in GT5):
PS3 --> HDMI --> Sony STR DH-810 Receiver --> Pinnacle MB10000 Speakers (5.1)
