New member, first post, I've been an avid fan since GT came out in '97.

In b-spec, professional, supercar festival I cannot beat the Daytona course using any combination of car / driver. Regardless of what I do, the drivers always slow to 135 - 145 in the middle of the 30 degree banked corners, inevitably dropping me back to 8th - last. (using: Veyron, Ford GT, Ferrari 512BB, Shelby Cobra, and the likes)

Seems like total BS to me.

any suggestions?

I'm watching my B-spec driver blow it in the first Championship event in Expert Series as I type this. When I took my Carbon R (R34) to this event I beat them all by a long shot. In the same car, he cannot get better than 7th.

I think has something to do with the faulty AI this game has to offer. I've always had to use cars that were way better than the typical entries of the race. My driver is level 17, and I expected him to do way better.

If you don't have the 787b (or similar) Stealth car, I'd recommend the Furai, which you probably have. A highly tuned 458 Italia, maybe a Gallardo, that sort of thing might work, but you basically have to have a very, very good car to win, I just use the best I possibly can because the AI is so broken I really couldn't care less about racing fair.

there is a trick to the bspec racing. You have to keep you driver in the middle or a little lower. If your driver is hot then cool him down, even if he is in last place. When you say to your driver to pace down, you are not telling him race slower, you are telling him to cool it in the corners. He will be far less likely to make mistakes and give up position. If he is cool then you need to tell him to pick it up to get the full potential from him and the vehicle. Only when you have your driver in a good range(fairly close to center), you can ask him to overtake and actually get an overtake. Middle range means your driver is racing smooth.

EXACT. SAME. SITUATION.

This frustrates me to no end, especially since my tuned Furai would leave the competition in the dust in any other more realistic circumstances. I really don't know how much more I have to grind my driver (he's level 11 now) in order to beat this race. Its immensely frustrating.

adjust your transmission for the track top speed. My cobra beat the other cars by half a lap with the transmission set to 230 mph. tracks with slower straights get adjusted down. the transmissions allows you to use the horsepower based on the track conditions.

Thanks for your advice! Got gold now in one try :)

I eventually figured this one out with a Lvl 13 driver and Veyron, when the countdown clock starts keep hitting "pace down" until you are in the lead. Keep it maintained in the middle and you will win. (no custom tunes on the veyron)

my b-spec driver (lv. 11) is the worst racing driver in the history of the automobile.

i give him equipment where all he has to do is keep the wheel straight and pedal down on the straights and he can win, and he doesn't do it, he doesn't pass anyone! AHHHGGGGG!!!
i waste more money/time on tuning cars for him than i do for myself... :dunce:

It gets better. Much better.

My B-Spec drivers are both level 18 and they destroy pretty much everyone now. Won "Like the Wind" using the Minolta pretty handily. Currently destroying the competition in my Toyota 7 in Historic Cup. After this they'll be heading to the All Stars in the Minolta to lay the smack down there.

They're really only a couple seconds a lap behind me on 2 minute tracks, and I'm not that slow.

ive beat daytona with my Corvette ZR1 and my Murcielago with 2 of my drivers at lvl 10 each. practically fully tuned /: because yes, the AI in this game is absolutely ridiculous a lot of the time.

Race cars can have sports tires fitted to them now.

Always give the b-spec retards a good race car or a fully tuned regular one.

I had trouble on this one until I put on the best possible tires allowed for this race and hooked the car up with an adjustable gear. Then set the gear to max speed, it did the trick for me.

I discovered last night that B-Spec drivers love LSDs. My B-spec driver had a lot of trouble keeping a Mustang from getting tail happy. He was losing it in the tight turns almost every time. I added an LSD, aggressively tuned, and a rear wing and he had no trouble handling it. He even did it with the 60 horsepower bump I gave him.
