B-Spec Race Monitor Question - red triangle?

 Hi all,

Just a quick question I couldn't find any answers to....

During B-Spec mode on the Race Monitor screen.........at the bottom there's the realtime distance monitoring feature showing all the cars with current distances between them, my question is, does anyone know what the little red and yellow triangle is that occasional pops up above the front a car ?

I've thought it could be when the car is behind another and gaining from less wind drag but no, it happens when there's no-one else around you.

It doesn't seem to be associated with either gaining, or losing on the car in front, or behind.

It's not an off-track sign as that's a seperate icon!...

I'm stumped anyone know ?

cheers
Alex

I always thought that it meant that you were catching up on the car in front of you, weather or not they are near you or not.

The car with the arrow has a faster sector time in the last sector than the car in front (i.e. it's closing the gap). This has been discussed before

ok I see.........well thanks anyway....

I did look for a previous thread but obviously struggled with the search criteria

cheers guys

Why don't you just respond "The car with the arrow has a faster sector time in the last sector than the car in front" and not be a donkey about it. Keep things positive. You should take fun in knowing more than others that you can answer these questions rather than being a stick in the mud a-hole, lighten up, the world loves you.

I for one am not smart enough I guess to know what the triangles meant and now am going to enjoy the game more because of it.

Thanks for bringing up the question and even more to he who answered it.

I was positive, I answered the question. I also think it's funny that you tell me to lighten up and then call me an "a-hole".

happy to entertain you, just understand there are coming up on 70,000 posts and when you put in search criteria, you often get dozens and dozens of threads. If it bothers you to have questions repeated, just go on to the next thread bud.

by the way "a-hole" translates into "great wise one with all the answers"

From what language does that word come from, and how did it find it's way into English?

If you're correct, I'll remember to use that phrase to page you at the airport, when I visit.

The reason everyone is always referrencing the search tool instead of creating a new thread is exactly the reason you listed above. They clutter the search tool, returning multiple threads about the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over. By the way there are several ways to filter a search if you spend the time to learn how it works :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Didn't mean to start an argument on here; I did try two or three different searches with honestly no results which vaguely resembled what I was after. Admittedly I didn't go through each and every one for the reason mentioned above that there were too many returns. Equally though, there was one search which yielded no results whatsoever. Hence I then proceeded with a new thread, at least it wasn't the first thing I did anyway.

But, at least this has helped not just me but another already so this forum has served it's purpose ultimately by hook or by crook.

Cheers for taking the time to respond, I'll know what the hell is going on now.

The other thing about threads is that they can be quite enjoyable, if I'd found the answer straightaway we wouldn't have gotten into any other discussions, each one may sprout another.

Anyway, thanks again !

Cheers

No argument, I find it entertaining when the "search function police" get their panties in a wad is all. It is too bad people are so bored for original content to fill their lives that they miss out on a chance to help others understand and thereby enjoy the only thing we all have in common.

Say "NO" to getting your panties in a wad, say "YES" to helping fellow GT'ers, even if they aren't as smart as you are.
