B-spec. WHY!?!

B-Spec will come in handy for new ones who only wanna race online, they can use it to unlock the online features without having to endure Career Mode themselves.

B-Spec opens up the GT series to those who might want a more casual experience, who are not really conventional gamers.

B-Spec opens the game up to those who are really rubbish at it.

👍

Earn money for not playing the game so you can earn fake money to buy fake cars and shorten the life of your PS3 while doing so. BSpec is the workaround for the stupid game economy that blocks access to the game's most expensive cars behind a wall of grinding, with the promise of the imaginary reward of "exclusivity", or the ludicrous illusion of having "worked for" or "earned" your cars.

It really doesn't have a use, at least in my opinion, if you've already beaten the game or have whatever cars tickle your fancy.

Or... maybe it appeals to people who enjoy management/simulator games? I certainly do. While it has its obvious deficiencies and is an afterthought within the game it can provide a mildly entertaining alternative interpretation of the game from the perspective of the pitwall.

But y'know, don't use it if you don't want to.

What's the point of B-Spec really?

Earning money without playing? Getting gold stars you're unable to get yourself?

I just don't get it.

That's my review and feedback for B-Spec.

Think of it as an extra assist for those still having trouble driving even with all the other assists turned on. A kind of combined steering and braking assist.

That's what it's for.

If you can drive well enough to win races and enjoy doing so, it will have little to no use to you.

B spec also makes the game interesting for young children - at least it did in GT5. My youngest daughter used to like buying and painting a car - normally pink or purple, then watching the oil change animation, then buying different colour race suits for her B spec drivers, then sending them out to race and watching their temperament and issuing orders to her drivers. I haven't bothered to show her this version of B spec because I know she won't be impressed!

This new GT6 version however is - I'm not normally a person who swears - swear word deleted - frankly it's not very good!

I am so glad B-Spec has returned. I get enjoyment seeing my AI driver smashing the competition. It has also helped my get lots of money from the 24 minute Nurburgring race. I put in the hard yards by doing most of the career mode so I look at this as like a break & the game filling in for me when I get my driver to race for me. & I like how this B-Spec is similar to the GT4 B-Spec.

My only crack at this GT6 B Spec is at The NASCAR race at Motegi. I was unimpressed at the regular commands, then I hit the real time "hammer down, turn left hard" and I got a good laugh out of seeing Bob rocket from 14th to first through one corner haha!

Well, I guess some people will find use for it, but I don't see why this is a feature so many have been longing for.

But it's not really a managemement part is it, you're just having a virtual "you" doing your job. No management features really.

I think B-Spec is a good concept, no other game I can think of has it. Here's another reason why I think it's a good thing; the largest demographic in motor sport is spectators. Having a mode that pretty much allows you to spectate could draw in many more players who otherwise wouldn't have considered it. That will translate into more profit for PD, who can then carry on making GT games. I love watching replays, & quite enjoyed watching the Remote races in GT5. As long as you didn't watch from any of the onboard views, the AI's awfulness was pretty much not observable.

couldn't say it better myself.

Had the game from the start so ive done all the races in A-Spec form. B-Spec for me is a new challenge being that the AI is so bad and its a fun. =)

I tried B-spec once, just to see how it works. At the 20-miles of Willow it's a lot slower. Even after I found the 'pedal to the metal' command it finishes somewhere around 14th place while I can win in the same car. And it uses a lot more fuel at the same time?? I must be doing something wrong..:banghead:

Maybe this it GT6's way of telling me my tune sucks..:irked::lol:

i've done the race in B-Spec with the same car (Tommy Kaira ZZII) I've won in many times and won first time out.

I share the same sentiment somewhat. I always wondered what the attraction was with having the game play itself. Still, some people seem to dig the whole B-Spec thing, and it's not just my game, so sure, why not. I'm happy for them that it's now there.

I will say I'm glad it doesn't have an entire campaign dedicated to it. When I first came across it in GT5, my reaction was "... a huge chunk of game that I don't get to play?? I want to do these races myself; why am I suddenly relegated to the role of annoying spouse?"

My review of your review..

"The review was two questions and a statement about the comprehension capacity of the reviewer, but very little actual content. Does not bring anything new to the discussion, isn't informative, a very poor effort - perhaps even lazy - and of little value to read. Certainly not worthy of a thread on its own, given the number of B-spec threads out there, and the existence of the EWAC thread.

1/10 would not recommend this review"

B-Spec can be very useful. We (Turtle Racing League) have 2 series now. That means I am practicing 2 days a week and racing 2 days a week. That's enough for me. Now I can grind and not burn out on racing.

It's a different mode of play, not a way to earn money "without playing".

👍
Or people who are, you know, actually physically impaired but still interested in cars and want to play a game with cars in.

Really Harsk? Such a ridiculous blanket statement its not even funny. I have been using B-spec a lot and I am far from lazy. I have been to the 50 mil mark twice now, all from manual grinding so yea, far from lazy.

I don't think that's what he meant, Mitch. :) He probably means that a good use for it is for people who are too lazy to do the races themselves. (Portuguese - first language?)

I'm 2 trophies short of 100% completion which I did the hard way, (No money glitch either) have also hit 50m a few times & like you I find it very useful to make money while doing other things. I only need the Chrome line Jag & Ford racing car in the 20 million stable & am finding it very useful in helping me to get them... 👍

Off topic: How the hell do you get the 'Come from behind & win right on the line in a 1-make race' trophy??? I've tried everything... :banghead:

This B-spec mode is a mockery of what it once was. I refuse to even use it...it's an absolute joke.

I agree somewhat with your statement... but I'll still use it from time to time
I tend to miss the actual evolution of BOB as well...When B-spec came out in GT5 you had to "teach" Bob how to drive.

AND...how many hours did we all spend sifting through and changing BOB's name to something well, just right?
Anyone find their own name? ... hours of fun and excitement gone:D:crazy::D
