Please forgive me if this has been posted before but I dont think I have the whole search thing mastered yet.

In the instruction book for the game it says that you can accelerate the time for B-Spec up to 5x's. My question is; Is there a code that needs to be used, because I can only go 3x's??

If there is a thread that already exists for this topic it would be greatly appreciated if I could get the link...

I think it is just a typo. I've been playing and reading the forums since the release day when I picked up the game. The only additional speed I see in the game and have read about in the forums is x3.

hope you have fun sitting in front of the playstation for 24 hours straight then, the rest of us will train our b-spec driver to be a cash cow and endurance winner :)

b spec is a godsend! get yer foolish pride out the way... and use b spec for what it was intended for!!

Gord

sorry, just seems no fun to me,(dunno what you mean about pride)
I'm not one of the people that will get 100% anyway, tbh I haven't even paid much attention to it, there may be more to it than what I realise...

I've been using B-spec for the endurance races here lately. I must admit, I am very thankful for it. I work 70hrs a week, plus I have a wife and family. I barely have time to B-spec, let alone sit in front of the tv 24hrs or even 5hrs for that matter.

Yeah same here.

to speed up b-spec, switch to the stats screen (R1?), then hold L1 and press the d-pad left or right. you will see the counter increment 1x, 2x, 3x. and the sound will speed up

I just find its great to skip races which dont appeal to you, but you want to finish. If a driving park track or motegi comes up ill usually use it, or the test course....makes those boring races fly by :D

Probably a stupid question aswell, don't know if it is on topic but here we go...
Is there a way to keep you're B-Spec in 3x after pitting, mine always goes back to live view so it still takes for ever to finish a race.

Thanx in advance

Yeah once your driver pits in you have to put it on X3 again manually. This means that during a 24hr race you have to at least keep checking it on B-Spec otherwise when it pits it will go back to the normal speed. LOL PD didnt want to make it too easy for us did they :) otherwise everyone would just leave the B-Spec mode on and just go to work, school, sleep or whatever.

👍

Sounds like a good way for Sony to sell more PS2 units - with all the burnouts from people leaving theirs running GT4 B-Spec all the time ...

The sad thing is, even if you do keep it on 3x the whole time, it's not on 3x. It takes somewhere between 9 and 9½ hours to finish a 24 hour race with no pits, etc. It should take 8 hours plus finish your lap.

I know because a friend of mine has a codebreaker and we did it with no tire wear and no fuel consumption. Stayed 3x the whole time. Dangit!

btw, I got the blue/white Formula, then orange, then blue/white :grumpy: again at the 'Ring.

okay, here is one for ya,is it me or when you hold L1 down it goes faster? or am i seeing things. US version.

must be my illusion too, it does seem to move faster right, or is it just our minds playing with us because we want to finish so fast it thinks its going faster. 💡 :scared:

what up
Super Jamie seems to be one of few here with a head on :dunce:
The quote above displays the proper direction in order for one to change the GAME SPEED 1x, 2x, or 3x. As far as my knowledge, this applies to ALL versions of GT4

This brings up another interesting topic: the manual. Is it just me, or was that thing totally LAME. Basically no point including it. They could have just put the driving school stuff in, think about all the money they'd have saved by only printing half as much. That thing is just so pointless, it pisses me off! And it's not even correct (the whole x5 business)!

Sure, it's nice to figure stuff out in game and be surprised and all, but it's also nice to have a reference there when you need it. For instance, what's with all the skill levels for B-spec, and the orange arrows? Would have been nice for them to answer that in there, instead of having everyone beat around the bush for a while trying to figure it out!

I remember this being discussed, but, if b-spec pits and I throw it into A-spec mode and drive for a while and throw it back into B-spec, will the pitting require my imput after that? Or will it just pit automaticly like it did in B-spec?
