Veyron Test

0-30-----1.4
0-40-----1.9
0-50-----2.3
0-60-----2.8
0-70-----3.4
0-80-----4.1
0-90-----4.9
0-100----5.8
0-120----7.9
0-130----9.1
0-140----10.5
0-150----12
0-160 ----13.9
0-170----16.2
0-180----19.1
0-190----23.00
0-200----28.6

I always thought that the claimed figures were a bit optimistic in normal conditions!I am certain that on a cold day the Veyron could do better. A thing to note, a Mclaren F1 via Autocar recorded 0-150mph in 12.9 and 0-200mph in 28 seconds, matching the Veyron. In another test by road and track, a Veyron recorded a 0-200mph time in 24 seconds.

As a biker,I am quite smug as an 08 Kawasaki ZX10R has achived 0-180mph in 17.2 seconds in a Cycleworld tes!!

Eitherway the Veyron is an awsome machine lets hope we can use it in GT5!!

Lol...

It would probably be pretty boring. Especially since you'll be able to get that same acceleration or better from a lot of the race cars. Plus, it's still a luxury car so I can't imagine it being as fun as some of the other cars already available.

Likely, but a welcome addition, and another car for me to test endlessley on numerous tracks.

How very dare you.

I'm no bikist.

I was not refering to the bike...never mind! lol

Ah but secretly you want a bike...all car drivers do but they are often too:scared:....:sly:

On a serious note, you should at least try once in your life, they are really not as scary or as dangerous as people often assume. Of course though one has to have the right attitude and reasonable talent to stay the right way up.

My mother lives in South Yorkshire and I often take a ride up there. If you have the courage I would be more than happy to take you for a safe ride as pillion:) (Don't let the dents/scratches on the bike put you off)

As a car lover, who reads car magazines, the cars with the performance to match a bike are so far from attainable to a normal person which is a shame. For me bikes are a great option, because that performance is so cheap comparatively...Though Motorcycles are never a substitute for my lack of funds to afford a sports car. Even performance cars that can be had for cheap still cost a fortune to insure and maintain and then you have to consider parking and congestion charge if you live in London!!

If you like going straight really fast. Yes. Turning? Not so much. The average biker (ie: doesn't have a death wish) can't turn as hard as I do in my car all the time. I know, I've been stuck behind them.

Well yes, lots of bikers are not that competent and many that are, are usually not willing to take the risk pushing a bike hard on country roads, after all it is illegal. Allot of bikers will find a good road and practice the route until they are familiar. In this example a biker is more willing to push his/her bike. Just take it to the track which is the best place.

Persoannly I am the same and will be far more likely to have fun on a road I am very familiar with, and thus much less likely to hold up an impatient driver that would like to get passed me. Please note when stuck behind that 'slow' biker, crashing is painful, exspensive, and annoying at best.

PS

Most bikers in the UK do not like going fast in straight lines despite what you may believe, that soon loses its novelty. Most when having bought there first big bike spend allot of time in 3 digits, but as time goes on you then look for the ultimate buzz which is cranking over through a set of corners.

Superbikes can also corner just as fast as Supercars (road legal and excluding trackday specials - Ariel Atom/Radical etc)

Oh absolutely. I fully understand why a biker would want to take it easy through a turn. But their reason for slowing down doesn't apply to me, and so I get held up.

Not according to physics.

edit: oh, treed.

Well it does apply to you as you are also mortal like the rest of us, just that you likely feel safer surrounded by metal and airbags not to mention your car being more forgiving than a bike if you were to get it wrong.... though I am sure you have your limits just like the biker which would be born from the very same reason of saftey. Sometimes that feeling of security can infact make a driver more dangerous and willing to push past there limits with horrible results.

Well it has been proven many times, of course if we compare race cars then physics get the better of the bikes and play to the advantage of the cars.

Quite right. If I get it wrong, my tires make a little noise. If the biker gets it wrong he wakes up in the hospital with skin from his rear attached to his shoulder. He chooses the more dangerous machine, which causes him to drive slower (because the consequences are so drastically different) - and I pay just a little for his choice to make himself scared.

But this isn't what this thread is supposed to be about, so I'll shut up now.

haha, it's ok it;s my thread so I give permission for it to go off topic.👍

We don't always end up in hospital. In the USA, from what I gather motorcyclist often do not wear protective clothing, and this is why many of them end up with having to have skin graphs. Personally I always where my kit and it has paid off after having accidents myself where I have simply just got up and walked away.
