Well fast food wouldn't be my first choice to work somewhere, but if I was poor and needed money something is better then nothing. I'm glad I never had to work for a fast food place, I'm not really a good customer person.

Dude this is totally off topic, but lamboracer, I just realized that you still have that quote I said about Darin in your sig. 👍

Correct.

I don't work at McDonalds, and never have, but I have much more respect for the most stupid, incompetent McDonalds employee than I do for anyone who is professionally unemployed.

I would rather give someone tax credits to subsidise them than to cop the full bill for a freeloading waster.
Amen GG. You so totally rock for that.

Race Idiot
Indian people run the KFC business, well in London they do.

Also Mc Donalds is way down the list in things i'd choose to eat. I'd much rather have a tasty Klav-Kalash!

Can I get a crab juice with it?

Amazing. I read the first page if this thread, containing 19 responses in total, and the question posed ("So who works at McDonalds like me?") was answered ONCE. And even that response ("Ronald McDonald") was sarcastic. What's wrong with you people?

And for everyone who said something stupid like you'd rather not work than work at McDonalds, you should be ashamed of yourselves. There are thousands of people out of work, and millions more without food in this world. On top of that, there are probably tens of thousands of people who have jobs that are much worse than McDonalds. Sweatshops. Landscaping. Roofing. Hell, what about the unlucky sods who clean outhouses for a living?

This is not a thread to discuss whether or not you like the food at McDonalds. It's a thread for McDonalds employees from around the world to talk about their jobs.

Very, very few GTP'ers work and McD's, apparently. How can they talk about their jobs if there's only one in the thread?

I guess they can't, but someone should have opened another thread called "McDonalds sucks" if they wanted to bash the place. BTW, for those of you afraid of having a Big Mac that was touched by a McDonalds employee's genitals, I don't know about the McD's where you live, but in Canada you can see the employees making your food; there's no place for someone to pull their schlong out and slap it against the patties. Stop being so paranoid. I'd be more worried about that happening at a regular restaurant, where you can't see all those disgruntled and disenfranchised short-order cooks adding their own special sauce to your clam chowder...

To be honest, I didn't want to work at McDonalds when I was looking for my first job. But after reading some of the posts here(non-negative ones), I definitely have more respect for people who work in fast food biz.

My only job, when I was in high school was in the restaurant. It was a very nice place, rated upwards of 4 stars by most local restaurant guides and papers/magazines. Man, some of the things that went on in the kitchen........ Be aware, some of the stories you hear about restaurant food is true. :yuck: One time at bowling alley, I ordered a shake. They told me to comeback in a few minutes, so I did. I saw a kid in the back accidentally dropping a cup of my milkshake. He scooped the shake from the counter(the entire thing) back into the cup with his bare hand, brought it to the front counter. I told the dude at cash register what I had just saw and that I'm not drinking it. Of course that kid is claims nothing like that happened, so I just took my money back and got back to bowling. Few minutes later, one of the guys from the kitchen brought me a new one, apologizing and saying he made sure nothing happened to the new one. The kid who brought it to me was real cool, and I'd talked to him before, but if the person who brought the new shake to me were anybody else, I wouldn't have drunk it. :D

I think working in McDonald's is not so bad. Well, for high schoolers at least. It's not the coolest job but it's a solid p/t job for a start. I've never worked in a fast food restaurant ( I lasted one day in one actually), but it wasn't such a bad experience.

Although in Japan, you actually get customer serivce and the smile they promise you. They really do. I enjoy going to Japan's McD's but the menu is mostly the same. They have teriyaki burger which is quite good. I think on average I go to Micky D once or twice every three months or so.

btw, MOS Burger is way better.

My bad i'll change it right away

Well sure it definately sucks, but i mean its my first job and will hopefully help me get that eclipse/240sx or any other car ive been looking for. And with that out of the way i dont have to take money of of my bank account which gives me more money for college so i cna become the engineer i want to be. And it helps my parents along the way. As for food, sure its grease infested but i can assure you that in my particular work place i try to make the food as sanitary as possibe becuase i do eat there at lunch and just as i make my own food i make others and try to give the same quality. But in all aspects MCDS does suck to work there.

Oh and im most definately incompetent or retarded or anything, its just my first job to help with my expenses that are not so easy paid for as they are for other people. My dad has lots of bills to pay and though i dont pay the bills i pay for myself which helps.

Ah the joy of looking back on the past. I worked at Mickey D's for about 6 months. I left in a brave walk out with two of my friends during the busiest time of the night. I even forget what pissed us off so much. I went to BK for a whole 25 cents more, making my new hourly wage 4.75 an hour. I stayed there for 2 and half years. It was nasty, but some of my best times in high school were either fianced though BK, or spent at BK since I had like 5 other friends that worked there with me.

The funny thing is, I had a hell of a lot of money back then. 4.75 an hour went a long way when I had no bills. 👍

The same thing happened for me and working for Famous Players (movie theatre). I worked there for two years as an usher making CAD $6.85/hr, and then got promoted to manager. I was running a theatre on my own AND operating the projection booth for a lousy $7.35/hr. Why didn't I leave? Free movies, free food, great friends, and even greater times!
