I just got a new PS2 memory card, I want to back up my GT4 saves. How should I do it? Just copy it in the memory manager or should I just load the game and then swap memory card and save it that way? I don't want to corrupt my current save. Thanks.

DON'T SWAP THE CARDS!

That will cause you to lose all your cars but the one that was selected when you did the swapping.

Just copy the save file over in the PS2 browser. :)

Yeah with all of this "coruption" thing happening to a lot of people these days it is mandatory to have a back-up. I did mine the same way that you said greycap:)

Back it up to your PC.

Get an XPort/Sharkport (old) or MaxDrive (new) to do this - and never worry about storage space again.

Can you use some sort of PS2 management utility or PS2 media player which allow you to organize file in your memory card, transfer file from mem card to USB Thumb Drive, access HDD through USB port to transfer GT4 save to USB thumb drive as a back up? (program such as "MyPs2" if i remember the name correctly)

I tried to access memory card through this program but it displayed all sort of folders with names that I could not make out what they are. Anyways copying GT4 save to USB thumb drive by using this type of program will certainly save me from buying extra PS2 memcard or the costly USB max drive.

Cheers!!!

Codebreaker has a user friendly interface to use an off the shelf pen drive. I happen to have both the MAX Drive and Lexar Media Pen Drive for codebreaker.
