I just received this in my inbox:

Unfortunately (as stated on our website (http://www.game.co.uk/help/Shipping.aspx), we do not ship items over 1kg internationally and we are therefore not able to fulfil your order, which has now been cancelled.

I pre-ordered this over a month ago [right when they started accepting pre-orders] and they choose now to tell me this?!?

So if you live anywhere outside the UK and pre-ordered the Gran Turismo 5 Signature Edition from GAME UK you will not be getting it.

On a side note, that is the last time I will ever deal with GAME UK, as I have had issues with them several times over the years. Usually, the issue is with them sending a collectors edition of a game overseas to me in an envelope and not in a sturdy container, thus it arrived in less than acceptable condition.

I really, REALLY wanted that Signature Edition! :indiff:

GAME UK have never let me down (probably because i live in the UK ;)) but i feel for you, must be real disappointed, can i ask why you chose to order from the UK instead of anywhere in the states?

Signature edition isnt available in the states

Apex book comes in the Collectors edition also (US and EU).

Really!?!

It will take me a little while to get the $250 - that is why I pre-ordered it [as GAME UK does not charge your card until it ships, giving me the time to save up].

If you pre-order a second one for me I guarantee you I will send you the money for it!

You may have to wait a couple of weeks though. I'm (amusingly) in the US between October 28th and November 12th - a little later and I could bring it with me :lol:

Pre-ordering it with GAME UK is risk-free for you. You can cancel at any time and they don't charge your credit card until the item ships [November 5th] so if for some reason I can't raise the money on time [not a chance ;) ] you can just cancel the order and you lose nothing. 👍

We get both of those in the Collector's Edition.

What area of the US will you be in?

I'm assuming of course your not on a secret mission from MI6 and can't divulge. :)
 
Sorry to hear that.

By the way, should we consider the possibility that any possible DLC for GT5 could be region locked? I hate if this would be the case with GT5 and something to keep in mind before importing.
 
Interesting sidenote, you can't preorder any GT5 in Germany at big retailers like amazon. I wonder why...

That's weird as both amazon in UK and France do accept pre-orders. I thought their standards were the same.
 
In portugal too they dont let pre-order the game and they say because in the gran turismo site doesnt have day out yet

Am I crazy or is the Signature wayy overpriced.

If the CE is US$150(roughly) and the SE is 300 Euros, what is making the price double?? What do you get in SE, 1\24th model(tiny) a black tin, wallet, and a raffle entry. Thats 150$ more?

I mean the SE is as much as a new PS3, as much as a G25 with wheel stand! Insane.

Exactly why I changed my mind about getting it :p

But the raffle prize is an SLS, not an old video from a cancelled 1980s TV show :D
 
Any ideas why Game has the release date as the 5th of November?
 
I got my email as well. It doesn't really matter since I was thinking about canceling it anyway and just sticking with the CE.

I love the GT-R, but I wish we could choose between a die-cast GT-R or the SLS. I would choose the SLS.

On PS3 nearly all DLC is region locked. More exactly it's tied to the product ID of the game. All you need is a PSN account for the appropriate PSN store. After installing the DLC can be used by every account on your PS3.

Florida - we've had a trip to Kennedy Space Center booked since ever, which NASA ballsed up and then ballsed up again. So we either cancel the tickets and lose £1,200 or roll with it. Maybe I'll pick up a US copy for my US PSN account while I'm there :lol:

GT5 doesn't show up on the www.usk.de site either, which is also very strange. And I couldn't find any Signature Edition save for the French amazon site.

They are not intending to keep them to the brick & mortar shops I hope.
 
Perhaps they're just waiting a bit longer. I imagine each country has its own Sony staff which dictate to the retailers what they can and can't do with their games.
I guess in Germany they're being a bit stricter :p

If you want to see it, you best roll with it. Sometimes on that type of thing you may never get the opportunity again.

The future of NASA is somewhat precarius right now, since Obama hinted he wants to cut their 2011 budget and cancel most of their projects. Congress is still haggling over it now.

Yea I guess you could rent a copy and at least familiarize yourself with the game before you get back home.

Which region are you in? I thought you were referring to the US not getting a signature edition when you commented about them thinking we are a bunch of 16-year-olds that won't use an Apex book or keyring, both of which are included in the US Collector's Edition.

If you are in the US there should be little confusion as we get either just the game or one special version.

I'm not, but the people that are do want the additional stuff that is included in the signature edition, which is not available in the US.

So your saying if you are in the US, you can order say the UK sig. edition since it will be in english, and it will play OK on the US PS3?
