Bad valve job?

I don't know much about cars, but I have had my heart set on getting a 1992 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4(Turbo).
I recently found one for a great price but there's a catch: Apparantly it has a bent valve.

Does anybody know how much money this will cost to fix?(and how long it will take?)

Well, I had a bad valve in my Escort GT. 1.8 DOHC 4 cyl.
The estimate was well over $1,000.
This for a car with nearly 200,000 miles on it.
Hence, I now have a low mileage Ford Ranger.

The VR-4 has a 2.0 L DOHC engine, right? According to this it's an interference engine, so the engine is probably toast, or at the very least you need a piston.

Like Gil said, unless you are willing to do an engine swap, not worth it...

I didn't realize that it was an interference engine.
(That means if it's been run at high rpm, or broken a timing belt, the valve family has been intimately aquainted with the piston family.)
In other words, there could be a whole lot of bent and/or broken stuff in that engine. The bent valve is a bad sign.

Don't look back. Even if they are giving it away, the price it too high.

If if were me I'd take it, but I have too many cars other than my Mach 1. For one, that is rare and underrated classic and there are 4G63s of that vintage out there so it doesn't hurt to shop around for one: the engine and two: a tech who can install it with quality and price.

...If I could just find one in decent condition, even WITH the busted valve (valves for all I care) - I'd take it in a second.. Mom and Dad had a GLSi (not the 4wd / 4WS version) back in the days, and I absolutely LOVE that car..

Then unfortunately some farmer dropped his trailer in the middle of the road and Mom had nowhere else to go.. Twas a cool car
