Right Dudes and Dudette's,

Sorry for the very, very boring title to this thread but really...I couldn't think of anything more snappy!

Anyway to the meat and bones of this....
I've recently purchased a DFGT and decided to do a little experiment to chill after my work placement. Basically I thought it would be kind of cool to take the base models road cars of the mentioned series' in the title and take them round the Nurburgring Nordschleife (Spelling :S), Monza, Le Sarthe, Suzuka and Fuji to compare these base models.

The cars I was planning on testing will be basic, however, I will be making the following changes:
Racing Soft Tyres
Oil Change
Racing Air Filter
Fully Customisable Suspension
All Drive Train upgrades
Fully Customisable Gears
Spoiler

I know that's a lot of changes but it does not really affect the power drastically.

The cars tested will be...
Toyota Supra
Nissan 350Z
Nissan Skyline (most recent, can't remember full name)
Honda NSX Type R 02
Lexus IS-F (I think that's the name)
Mercedes C Klasse
BMW M3
BMW M5
Audi R8
Audi TT 08
Ford Focus RS
Subaru Impreza WRX
Misubishi EVO 10
Mini Cooper Works
Citroen DS3
Lamborghini Murceilago
Ferrari 458 Italia
Ford GT
Cheverolet Corvette Z-R1

Maybe's (If available, not entirely sure they are)
Seat Leon (WTCC Base)
Chevrolet Lacetti (WTCC Base)
Vauxhall Vectra (BTCC Base)
Aston Martin (GT Base)

OK, so this is the list to be going on with. I will be posting the times back on this thread but due to time constraints it may take a while.
If anyone has any suggestions for cars to test then feel free to suggest away :D

Also...it would be really cool if anyone wanted to contribute to this too by testing the cars with the mods on the list done using the tracks on the list too so we can compare times? Please put whether you are using DS3 or steering wheel (please put on the type of steering wheel) because I'm curious as to how I compare with other wheel users and pad users.

Cheers Guys and Girls

I suggest you use a lower spec tire such as sport soft. A lower spec tire will allow the basic handling characteristics of the chassis to be revealed.

I second that comment... I decided right after getting the game to test ALL cars, against similar opposition., with stock tires (except when they don't fit with competition). So all 90's sports car were tested against each other on sport hard tires (soft could be used) until I found that my driving style affect times more than the car itself.

turn's out I'm a supra driver (IRL and in GT... since the first one) so I won't be able to help you with testing, since i'm no good (can't beat stock 97 supra with any skylines, rx8 or recent fairlady Z... strange)

back on topic:
can you explain why those mods? because they will impact different cars differently, and same apply to tracks. Those cars with those mods won't replicate the racecars in the title, and you would be testing randomly modified cars...

what results are you trying to get? which base car is faster? by pairing them maybe?

Yeah I know about those mods, I've got to admit that I didn't want to alter BHP output a lot that's why there's only an oil change and a racing filter. The other mods were done cause I do those to all cars as standard anyway (I know a poor reason) and the tyres were done because to the best of my knowledge there are control tyres in each series so it shouldn't really make a difference. I know that the tyres will affect the handling but it will be equal gain for all cars same with the rest of the mods to be honest.

The results I'm trying to get is in part to see which base car is quicker but mainly for enjoyment to be honest and too learn my new wheel :) because I've always seen GT as purely racing but the wheel gives it far more depth and at the moment I' just really enjoying driving different cars

I know it's not a very scientific test cause there are mods and racing tyres but at the end of the day the different cars will all be affected by the mods.

I could go back and do them without mods and normal tyres but as I'm planning to be consistent along the board I'll do it this way first and then the other way later.
Yeah they will also be paired together so all WRC will be against WRC but there will be interest to see which is the quickest GT car.
