Here's a little preview of a new product I will be putting out soon. I am currently just testing it to see how things go. So far so good... Pardon the video, it was taken with my phone.

The finished product will look something like this:

Awesome work. Love the switch you used on it, looks like its great quality too.

I'd say good luck with wrapping the project up (literally). ;)

It is a neat little switch isn't it. I didn't see any others like it. I just love browsing places like digikey, mouser, etc. looking for stuff like that. "Hmmm... this looks neat.." *add to cart* haha

Also, I know I sound like a dork when recorded... I've come to terms with it. :p

Hmmm, will look at those sites too as I am currently browsing for switches. ;)
I believe there were also on/off flip switches kinda looking like this but then used in tape decks and so on in the 80's. They look kinda like the toggle switches with leds in them these days, but it was kinda more of a lever switch with a small rod with flattened head. *goes of onto the web to look for some after this post*

Oh and most of us think we sound horrible on camera. I got comments that I sounded like Kimi Hakkinen though. lol

I find buying switches is one of the most difficult things, I hate it. Wire is another one. I think it's knowing what to search for to find what you want, but even when you have the manufacturer name, part number and data sheet it's still difficult!

Aaanyway, that's a nice little board, a useful product as usual!

Thanks guys :) It's just a fun little thing. There are other ways to accomplish it... But... Now that's not necessary and it looks cool. :)

I should note... While I used my FL2 and G27 shifter with it, you can just as easily use both of the Fanatec shifters.

Also... I did not make it automatic because Fanatec has been "playing around" with their firmware on the different wheels and some of them cause issues with recognizing shifters. So, long story short, I went with manual to prevent that causing issues.

nice!
i sense this can also work "in reverse" with one th8rs and the 2 plugs going into the wheel base and fanatec pedals simultaneously? I hope im not giving anything away? i assume this is the adapter you were referring to.

im growing a collection of adapters!

I just wanted to update the topic and say that these should be available very soon though the first batch will be at a slightly reduced price. I made a tiny "boo boo" on the circuit and it needs a jumper in one spot. Thus, the first batch will be offered for less. The jumper has no affect on operation at all and you probably won't even notice. ;)

Anyhow, I will post a photo of the real deal when it's ready to go. This should be a pretty handy and reasonably priced item for people.

As of now, it looks as though it will work that way, but I still need to test it that out to be 100% sure.

I can't wait to see pictures of a finished one. Must look pretty with the acrylic top. :)

And... The real deal... Turned out pretty close to the rendering ;) Thank you CNC machine.

I'm just waiting for some shorter cables to come in to sell with it, then they will be made available. The screws will be different as well, I don't like these round top ones. I had to make due with what I had at the time.

I should mention, if you couldn't tell, it's under 2 inches square. So it's pretty unobtrusive.

sweet, makes me want to find a hardmounted position for a sequential shifter now...
or find an quick and easy solution to switch back and forth on the TH8RS from Hgate to sequential...

Thanks guys :)

Encity, I've been pondering some ways to make the TH8RS mode switch a little simpler but haven't come up with anything I like yet. In the meantime, since you have a CSR, you could mount your Fanatec sequential right up next to the wheel with those rods, then run it into one of these along with the TH8RS in H mode. Then the switch is the flick of a switch away. Or buy another SFA1 lol and get something like a DSD sequential along with it. :) That'd be ideal I think.

For those of you that are interested in purchasing one of these... How many of you would need at least one more cables? Remember you'll need 1 for each shifter going into the switch and one coming out of the switch to go to the wheel.

As well, what are your thoughts on cable lengths? I only have 6 foot and up cable lengths, black. I have tried to source 3' cables, even purchased 40 of them but they showed up in beige, despite having confirmed with a sales rep they were black... The only real option there for short cables is to have them made in the East. ;) I'd rather not go through all that.

Well, no response on the cables has me a bit puzzled.

I will be adding this to my site in the next day or two. However, these will be a limited run of 20 and likely the last "Fanatec-centric" item I create. I will not be making more than 20 of them, so if you end up getting one you might need to consider yourself lucky. ;)

Can't believe I missed this....
For my setup. I need two short ps3 cables. I purchased a DSD shifter recently and will be getting a second SFA1 when it arrives. So setup will be:

TH8RS------SFA1-short cable-
\
--Basher switch--Short cable-- CSRW
/
DSD Seq----SFA1-short cable-

*edit.... stupid post doesn't work properly

TH8RS------SFA1-short cable ->--Basher switch--Short cable-- CSRW
DSD Seq----SFA1-short cable-/

Unfortunately, I have been unable to find black cables that are less than 3 feet long... So, that's all I can provide. However, many people already have the short cable that came with their shifter set. This can be plugged into the switch then into the wheel. The longer cables can go to the shifters.

It's really unfortunate I can't find shorter ones... The only option seems to be ordering them direct from China and I'd really rather not.

I just purchased the switch and I look forward to adding it to my rig. Thanks mrbasher.

No problems... Don't offer cables, and let people source their own, as everyone has their own needs. You can't provide everything to everyone, nomatter how hard you try ;)

Can't wait to have the switch and the shifters all hooked up ready to race. Derek sent me an e-mail.... it is on the way. :D

Like a kid in a candy shop :p

I'm a basher... Mr Wizard is a wizard... :)

I'm also apparently "vainglorious." A word for which I must thank the kind soul for whom recently used it to describe me in a nice message via my contact form. I quite like the word and had never heard it used before. :) Unfortunately, they didn't leave their real email address. Really a pity. lol Though they did leave their IP along with some other info.

"literary : having or showing too much pride in your abilities or achievements " :dunce:

Someone doesn't know you very well....

Can't please everyone :)

My pride is inside.

Regardless, I liked the word and some of the other stuff they wrote. It was honestly pretty funny, especially the name they chose as the "From"
