Hello! Do you need to keep GT4 on it's toes? Well, listen here! I just came up with my own track of the week set up so GT4 isn't left out of the fun!

Here's how it works. I come up with the track of the week, but you can give me ideas. The car goes the same way! You take the car of the week and go to the track of the week in Arcade Mode, Time Trial. No tuning is allowed in the cars!!! You send all of your times and ideas to me in a PM (Private Message) and each week your time will be posted. The best time gets 100 BCS points. BCS points are used to move up levels. I will send a PM to you if you move up a level. It starts this week! Good luck!

i'll try this. i usually do 3 laps at a time, so yeah. i'll give my times either as an edit or i'll post 'em tomorrow. i can't post videos, because i don't have a max drive.

I have a couple suggestions/questions.

You should consider specifying a -10% weight reduction all the time, since there's no way to tell what weight was actually used.

It would be helpful to specify a deadline to submit a time for each combo, Sundays at 1:00pm GMT for example.

Am I correct in assuming that we are just supposed to use the tires that come on the car?

Do you only want people to PM their times to you, rather that post them in the thread? Submitting lap times by PM would add suspense, while posting lap times or just splits in the tread during the week would give people an idea what they're up against. Either way works for me.

I'm also assuming standard GT Planet OLR Rules: two wheels on or above the track/curbing at all times.
 
Um, are you doing it with the STOCK Corvette C5 Z06?

Oh, and only lap times are required, no videos please. I'll think about Tsukuba Circuit. But what about a car? I'm thinking of the Viper SRT10. But DJ Baker, I'll take those under consideration.

OK, rule change!!!! Each time & suggestion should be put here! But be careful! I have all of the availible tracks now!

So, basically, clear this up for me. Right now, which car and which track should we be aiming for? In the case it's the Corvette C5 Z06 and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, as you have previously stated, I will give it a go. About ten to fifteen laps with the car should do okay. :D

EDIT: Maybe, fifteen to twenty. That will do better :D
And personally, as DJ Baker stated about posting the times in this thread, I would give a slightly different opinion about it. I would rather have the times on the thread in order to know how far I can push the car. Although, posting times on the thread could give rise to cheaters. Not that I think GTPlanet is full of them :)

Well, only post your BEST time for each week. All times must be in by Sunday at 1:15 PM. The Top 15 times will be posted for each week. If you post your time, you CANNOT change it. That way you can't cheat. PLUS, eveyone is dealing with the same track, car, and car settings. Right now the must have NO TUNING, but, later there could be some required tuning (weight, power, tires, etc.).
 
Great! Just for the record, what time is it now? Just so I know how much time left do I have to post my best time. I may improve it a few 0.xxx more.

You misunderstood me, but no matter. :lol: What I meant was, was time is it? i.e.: 14:00hs, 15:00hs, etc. Because here in Argentina, we have a different hour than there. What I want to know is exactly how many hours left do I have to improve.

Maybe you could look at what time it is in Eastern Standard, 12 hour clock time (with your PS2), right now (at least where I live) it is about 2:00 PM on a Friday afternoon. On a 24 hour clock, it would be around 14:00hrr or so. You have about 44 hours, less than 2 full days, to do it!

Its OK. Once I did that same thing. When is yourr time going to be posted? I so far don't have any times but if I could get some, that would be cool! Remember, 44 hours, plenty of time!!!!💡
 
DJ Baker, too soon man. I believe people are going to aim for a time faster than that, now.
 
I thought the deadline was today at 1:15pm Eastern Standard Time (EST) in the US. I posted at 12:59pm EST.
 
Oh, damn!!! I completely mistook the day. :( I thought today was Sunday...

EDIT: I though today was Saturday...

I only see one posted time. I'll extend the deadline to Thursday Jan. 8,2009 at 4:00 PM EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST). I want at least 5 times. I take it some people need a little more time.:indiff:

However, do 2 tracks while your at it. The 2nd track of the week time is in need to be here by Sunday Jan. 11,2009 @ 1:00 PM (EST)! You can post times before the deadline! Here is this week. Pay attention to the car settings!

Make sure your Mustang GT you're using has -10% weight.

Hi,

I just spent one hour + (about 60 laps) around the Tsukuba Circuit in the Mustang

and fastest lap I was able to do was 1'02.315
That's my final time for this event.

Good luck all who take part to this event!
I hope it helps you to concentrate when you have a time to chase.
I believe a megalap, perfect lap in this car
could be about 61.5 seconds.
with the -10% weight S2 tyres (Sports Medium) and stock power.

A suggestion for track and car:

Arcade mode> Time Trial> City Courses> Citta Di Aria (Forward)
Car Japan> Nissan> Nissan SKYLINE GT-R Vspec LM Limited (R33) '96

Quick tune:
Power -20%
Weight -10%
Tyres S1's (Sports Hard)

I've tested this and it's a thrill to drive it fast around this track without hitting walls. :lol:
 
This looks great, BCS!! I personally will have a shot at this sometime... i'll be busy with my b/day and my sister's b/day 5 days later... but don't worry ;). I've got plenty of ideas to post up sometime too :).
 
It sure does, MadMax! I will try the "megalap" as soon as my USB Flash Drive ends downloading the photos from my GT4.
 
So far with the Mustang on Tsukuba, I managed 1'02.137 after about 20 laps. When I get into the proper routine I might hit 1'01.7xx. Great car, great little track. I also used the Lotus Elise type 72 on Autumn Ring. That was fun!!
 
The 2 times:
1st: 1'02.137 (mcsqueegy)
2nd: 1'02.315 (MadMax86)

Ok, not enough! I'll give you ONE more day (tomarrow)! After that, the results are in!
