well I got in my car this morning and it was a shocking 3 degrees out and with the wind it was -15.

It was like 10F today, -1 this morning, and -15 to -25 windchill.

And Parkway had school. Evidently the superintendant doesn't get off the couch to go outside...

Haha this morning my car wouldn't even start due to coldness. I think windchill was all of -20 out.

You expect school to be cancelled because it's cold? Was there a lot of snow or something?

I saw that you were having a heat wave Vatman when I was watching the open. I think they even suspended the matches for a bit.
Maybe after I retire, I'll just travel the world following summer around. June-September in the US, and the rest of the year in Australia (dodging sharks from what my latest IMAX movie tells me. ;))

It's been in the 80's here in southern California for the past week and a half, and there's no rain or cool down in the forecasts.

Here's a lil' story: Both of my grandparents were raised in North and South Dakota. The year that they turned 18/19, the got the hell out of that area and moved to southern California. I guess I got most of my "smart" genes from them...

40C+ here last saturday(26th) heard talk of 46.3C
thankfully i was inside all day, had the fan on but all it was doing was pushing the stinking hot air around so was of absolutely no benifit at all

Um, you should really think again before you post. How about Minnesota? We're farther north than you, so stop whining! At that time we were at about -7ºF or so.

You have smart genes?

Minnesota is part of Canada, or the other way around, right?

Anyway, the oil burner broke in my house today. I think it was warmer outside actually for about 5 hours while we got the thing fixed. Fun!

No, but it gets cold in Minnesota, so Minnesotans should've known not to post here and beat my record -18.3 temperature.

Nova Scotia is Canada's Ocean Playground.

Canadians go to Nova Scotia to play in the ocean.

Evidently, also they go there to freeze their asses off.

Holy crap :p How'd you know that? That's what it says on our license plate! I'm surprised that you know that, well done! 👍

And BTW, it gets WAY colder out west, it can get down to -40 with a windchill of -45 in extreme cases

This is the bay near my house. Notice that it is completely frozen over.

It's been cold recently. :boggled:

Yeah, I saw a Nova Scotia tag in northwestern Colorado like four years ago and haven't forgotten (nor will I probably ever).

I dunno how cold it gets around here... -1 is extremely low, and most of our record colds were set in the late 1800s.

That's cool

Well, it was another -30 day again today

Pfft. Right now, it's 25 out, but it snowed, so haha. I assume you get quite a bit of snow, though, too.
