Beating IA-7 at all

I can't do it, the Griffith is just uncontrollable, no matter what I do. If I try to take turns with any semblance of speed, I go out of control every time, regardless of any other factors. If I do slow down so much, it's always too much. Either way, I can't even get pass 2'14", let alone 2'11". Help?

(Why couldn't I just have the Viper for all 8 tests? Why?)

Practice is obviously the best and only way to really go about it, but if you desperately want to beat it now, just try wall riding, you can get a stupidly fast time on that license, murdering the original gold time. The stress should be gone and then you can just try affectively trying to shave time off. Using manual gears helps too. Isn't there license examples in the replay theatre too?

Yes, watch the demo replays, use a manual (Although I've only ever played the first game with an automatic) and learn to control the throttle. Also, I've actually found IA-8 harder than 7. I don't know why.

Enter a similar car in the Normal Series. The instance of the Griffith in the license test does have a couple of minor mods, I believe, but the feel is essentially the same. Practise and observe your times at SSR11.

The Griffith in the IA-series was tuned? Never knew that really, but it really felt a tiiiiiiny bit faster than the regular one sometimes, yes.
Anyways, as Sportwagon said, practice is what is required to get the job done here. If you have enough money, buy yourself the Griffith and do timetrials at SSR11. Once you feel confident with that car/track combo, go for it.

Well i have 2:02.9..Griffith is just great car to control (better than Viper - but Viper has great sound :))

Just watch accelerator when on first or second gear. That should end your spinning problem.

Or complete Arcade Mode in Difficult level and attempt to do a time trial there (using the Griffith and Hi-Res SSR11). :)

In simulation mode you can do practice runs on whatever the track you want before the race itself (as well as Qualification) (Spot Races for instance or NORMAL CAR CUP - better choice).

In GT1 the physics in Arcade Mode were noticeably different from those in Simulation Mode.

In case the guy doesn't have the money to buy a Cerbera? ;)

...by how much? Apart from jumps, I really have no idea.
