Hi all.
Been a long time since I played the GT7. ... maybe a couple years.
I used to be somewhat active here, but, got consumed by Diablo2R... and, finally bored of that at the moment, so, decided to jump back into GT7...
Fired up my PS4Pro (T150 wheel w/ T-LCM pedals) and jumped into some single player, and... I've lost any bit of talent I once had.
To be expected I guess.
I saw the big sailing ship in the port, and then read you need a PS5 to participate... Hmmm.
Then I saw - online - there were 60's era Alpha Giulia in the game! I figured it had to be related to the sailing ship, so, off to "BigBox" store to grab a PS5... and, why not a T598 since I was there.
T598 - holy crap that is a monstrous base.
I installed it on my PlaySeat Challenge with the clamps and riser plate it comes whith... OMG... no good.
So, I went to the garage, grabbed my cordless drill and bits, in an attempt to drill out the plate on the PSchallenge...
I do not know what kind of steel that is, but, I destroyed several drill bits (attempting to make pilot holes), and ran out of battery on my drill in no time...
New Years, day, so nothing is likely to be open.
This morning I went to "BigBox" store and grabbed the cheapest corded drill they had, and some Ti bits.
Bam, holes drilled faster than I had made 2 pilot holes yesterday.
Mounted the T598 without the "riser plate" it comes with - and still cannot see the lower middle of the TV.
Ok.
Downloaded the TM T598 firmware, made all the recommended GT7 settings, paired my T-LCM pedals and set about trying to learn Jacques V circuit (I'm a Canuck)...
Love the wheel!!! And it seems to work ok with the pedals, may have to drag the rig into the den and adjust the pedals (again), but, good enough for now.
Back to the wheel... it feels really light in-game...
Yet somehow, is so communicative I can catch slides/oversteer dang near like in real life (had no control of such with the T150)... simply amazing! (T150 is the best wheel I have used prior).
But, it feels odd and vague under braking.
So, having set the TM recommended settings for the wheel - internally in the wheel itself... do I need make adjustments in game as well to best configure this thing?
Having said all that...
I am using today's "green-light" circuit option to run the Nissan GTR... on sports tires... at J Ville.
I almost never use sports tires, nor AWD cars... much prefer RWD GT4 and GT3 cars... so maybe I better go earn some $ on the popular events to better understand what I'm dealing with.
And, back to the Giulia, looks like I need to shop 2nd hand cars yes?
