Hey everybody in GTP:D
I´m a beginnerdrifter as you might see. And I have a question:
Wich car is the best beginnercar to drift with?
It should be easy to get a drift going and (if possible) not so easy to spin with.

I stardet with fc rx-7 infini and I used cudaman's settings and it worked fine.
a good track to begin drift on is midfield.

yes midfield is my favourite driftcourse (maybve just cuz i´m a newbie:P) but who cares.
I tested the settings for RUF RGT that i found in the drift settings depot and the settings were great just one small change, harder tires at the rear. it makes a big difference, it makes it much easier to get a drift going and it doesn´t spin that easy either :D

I used a stock ae86 with sims, from there i tuned it and advanced from there... now I used a Supra turbo among other cars.

A lot of people say that it's easier to drift 4wd/awd, and that you can get bigger angles without spinning because the front wheels help you pull out of the drift. So, I would personally suggest the Lancer or maybe the ZZ2. These should both work fairly well stock with sims, but the Lancer might need a bit more hp. That one Celica might work, but I dunno. Another all-time favorite would be a skyline, but they're all REALLY big and heavy, but that can be good to help you get used to weight shift.

Also, if you start off with a 4wd car, be really careful when you move over to FR or MR cars. They will slide out much easier than the 4wd.

Lastly, my personal favorite bit of advice: don't get too much hp, and stick with the simulation tires. With the sim tires, you will be able to slide farther and easier. With less hp you will be able to control those sims. And...by less I mean around 250-350 hp, depending on the car.

Finally, keep up the practice, and Good Luck :)

well, i used the one in the arcade mode( the drift option) becausae i did have that much money to get a good car or parts becuase i spent it on a couple of high horse power cars and i just played with the e brake

Whatever you do start out with a FR so when you go over to 4wd's then back to FR you won't have any problems switching between the boths plus your learn alot by drifting FR's.

of the two, i would probably recommend the Evo, because you can equip them with an AYC, which makes sliding the thing around an absolute breeze. (and you dont have to win one :p )
...its not really a great car to learn on though. It's a bit too forgiving to mistakes. Fun just for showing off and burning off a few tires. :sly:

im going to agree with what a few others have said in this thread (Ryen49, and the Purple Platypus, i believe) and say start out with a relatively low powered FR car with sims, and maybe a few suspension adjustments. This will teach the basics of weight transfer and throttle control, and wont drop you into the trap of simply power-sliding through every turn with the gas pinned.
I'd recommend either the S13 or S14 personally (not that i dislike the AE86, mine in particular is just disagreeing with me lately :irked: )

well it works the other way also

Cars to learn with:

S13 1800cc
RPS13 (240sx type x)
Skyline GTSt type M
Trueno

Low power on sims (stock to 250hp) is the best way to go, to learn good (dellicate) throttle control, and technique (over power). It is important to learn good technique, and throttle control, before drifting different HP and tire combo's IMHO.......

;)

Like silviadrifter said. Keep the FR car around 250 and sims, and you should be set. I used an Silvia K tos tart drifting with, the biggest problem was not flooring it the whole time. Flooring the whole turn = Spin.

I actually started with, and still use, the Viper Concept car fully tuned to 980 hp. I tried the AE86 with about 300hp and I couldn't control it at all, but somehow I can get the Viper going like mad.

Yeah I do, but I don't go around parading the info like it is something to be proud of. I have been drifting forever now. My favorite drift cars are my Viper Concept, the AE86 (of course), and the Mustang Cobra.

Nah, I think its cool because its something you don't see everyday. Also I think it would be sweet to have, say, a mid 90's camero drift car in real life

sound advice. FR is the core of the drifting philosophy/ technique
once you master that other drivetrains are a mere panatel, a drop in the ocean.:D
