Beginner Question: How to test body height for wheel rub?

Is there a particular way to test if the ride height is too low, for example a particular track that's best to determine this?

I've recently watched this video and did the same standing wheel turn test, but this doesn't take into account downforce while traveling. If the car is too low will it bottom out and show sparks (like in this GT Sport video) because I am yet to see this even though I have set quite a number of cars to the minimal height setting.

Usually I haven't be going any lower than the default when installing the Height Adjustable or Fully Custom suspension. But some cars have very odd defaults. For example the Impreza 22B has a default of 100 with Height Adjustable, but 140 with Fully Custom. Would that mean it's probably not a good idea to go lower than 100, or is that just a random default not specific to this car?

Unless an expert advises otherwise, iirc, you go into cockpit and do full or nearly full locks and atch the drivers arms, ensure the drivers arms are able to go and not stop... if tgey don't , you need to raise it slightly. Rim size plays a part too in this iirc.

No rules as such, again AFAIK from reading this forum.

You certainly can go lower than the default ride height. Usually problems occurs when they're with 10 or so (or less) than the absolute minimum (using sports suspension). Although some can go lower without problem.

Experts please correct me if that's wrong.. 🙂

The way i find if its to low, get up to speed on a long straight with a sharp bend at the end if the steering doesn't react and turn ie loads of understeer its probably too low and rub restricting turning .

So after lots of testing the most reliable way to work this out I found is the following:

Do a time trial of Blue Moon Speedway, this has a sharp enough turn but is simple enough that testing results should be easily consistent. Then I turn on auto drive and see if the car can make it throught the sharpest turn without sliding out. You can try this with an R32 or MR2 set to the lowest ride height and will see there is no way they can make it through the turn on auto drive, yet with height increased it has no issues. Hope this helps
