As many of you have read, we're soon going to be holding a competition for people new to drifting. Swift, DR, and myself are just putting some of the final touches on everything, and we're intersted in knowing who out of all of you is actually interested in participating.

To quickly summarize our plans for the first competition of this type:
  • The competition will consist of 6 sections of track varying in length from a single corner, to 3 or 4 successive corners. These 6 sections were hand-selected by the three of us, some based on suggestions presented to us from members of this forum.
  • The sections are designed to test the skill of this forum's new drifters through a variety of corners, while keeping difficulty relatively low.
  • By keeping the sections short there is little pressure to perform consistently at a high level. We hope this will allow us to see your very best drifts.
  • There will be demonstrations available for each section, provided by Swift, DR, and myself
  • Entrants' videos will be scored on a marking system based on the one used in the GTPDC's - perhaps with a few minor alterations.
  • The primary focus of this event shall be to provide a learning environment to new drifters with plenty of feedback on their performance.
  • Secondary to that, this event is to provide a venue for new drifters to check and compare their skills with each other.
If you're at all interested in participating in this competition, please drop us a line here indicating so. We're hoping to begin the competition in about 1 week's time. Competition rules, the sections to be drifted, and entrant numbers will be provided then. But first you must sign up!

Boomboy, as long as the picture is clear and doesn't have black bands showing up across the TV screen it should be alright.
 
Oh, i wanted to tell people that if they have a DVD recorder that they can link up to the same TV as their PS2 it's easy to record to disk, and then rip it onto the computer. Thats the way i have to do it.

Please count me in. I have a new computer and my ps2 is connected to it. Woot.

Im excited to learn...I think Im going to do this all on my dfp rather than the ds2, so i can get a better feel for it..

I hope everyone is practicing, because this is going to be a real test for some of you... This is your chance to learn, and maybe even your chance to show the GT drifting world, what you can do...

nope, just goto the competition thread and repost there saying you'd like to join. We'll take more entrants right up until the deadline for submitting videos.
