The Grand Canyon photo location looked sweet! The Cuda was inches away from a huge drop! That is quite a location. Very well done.

I wonder if TV helicopters will fly overhead or be seen in replays........that 'ring shot with the copter looked in-game to me.

No. The Bentley's suspension is not the same as the Audi, and the Bentley uses a 4.0L Turbocharged V8 while the Audi uses a 3.6L Turbocharged V8.

It would seem I was mistaken. The Bentley doesn't use the same engine as the Audi, it was just built by Audi (and would thus invariably have quite a few common traits with the R8).

A useful quote:

Audi Sport in Neckarsulm, Germany, engineers and builds the direct-injection V-8s found under the Bentley’s sculptural cowling.

And the source:

The original EXP Speed 8 used the same 3.6L Turbo V8, but the 2nd year they switched to a modified version of the Audi block for the EXP Speed 8. I believe the fuel injection system is different as well, as are other minor things.

Doubt it ... even on a PS2 that would cause slowdown, most notably in the replays. Of course, PD could always remove them from the replays to stop the slowdown, but then people whould be whinging because there helicopters weren't there.

From what I remember the bently had to serve a slight penalty in capacity. other than that, why would they not use one of the most successful engines in lemans history.

You know, I'm actually shaking in my boots here now. The Audi R8 in GT4. Oh, man. Audi fans will use it to cause complete and total OWNAGE in races, and R8 haters to upset the R8. The last game I raced an Audi R8 was in the PS2 game "Le Mans 24 Hours." There is also an R8 in "R: Racing Evolution," but I never played that game. In some ways, I still think the Audi R8 is going to be one b*tchin' machine to race.

FLASHBACK:
"(2) While Audi will probably no doubt be in GT4, the Audi R8 would be cool to race. And the alluring Audi R8C from 1999 would make for a sweet car to race. But if the Audi R8 will be included, I'd better have Panoz so I can kick Audi's asses and do what Panoz Motorsport couldn't- DETHRONE AUDI!!!" -JohnBM01; 04/28/2004 in the topic "Prototype Pescarolo Sport in GT4 (Pics Inside)"

"The Audi R8 needs to be in GT4. The winning record of this race car is legendary." -Solid Lifters; 04/28/2004 in the topic "Prototype Pescarolo Sport in GT4 (Pics Inside)

Guess what? Seven months later, here we are. Awaiting to race/beat the Audi R8. Funny, eh?

The Audi R8 was successful for more then it's engine.

The Bentley, being a GTP, had to run a slightly different air restrictor, as well as other rules to help bring the aero advantage of the GTP back down to the speeds achieved by LMPs.

But you got to admit, the fact that the Audi R8 never missed a race or had to pull out of a race due to engine problems says a lot for the engine.

Yeeeaaaaah!!!! Both Audis I wanted are in!!!!! Cano confimed (?) Audi Quattro Sport
S1 and that confirmed R8. I'm so happy and I wait soooo much to get to play the final game.

After taking a look at that Audi Quattro from 1982, I think I'll probably enjoy it in GT4. The course it's racing looks like Paris (Tarmac Rally Version) in the twilight, as opposed to the nighttime version. Or maybe it's Hong Kong and it's weird time of day. The Hong Kong course looks more like sunset, evening, twilight, or hell- sunrise (who'd professionally race at 6:25 AM except for endurance racers?)! Man, the features and cars are mesmerizing! Maybe after you play GT4, you may need to see a psychologist to get yourself back into control from being euphoric. Of course...

Is there a doctor in the house?

Here, two links that you can compare these two rally Audis (information is from official rally book):

1982

1985

There is a big difference. Stig Blomqvist drove one rally 1986 with old '82 Audi and he said that it felt sooo slow. :) He has also said that you can really feel the downforce that S1's really big wings do so wings are not for fun in the car.

One thing is sure. Audi's line 5 turbo engine sounds really awesome!!!!!!!!!!
;)

P.S.

Moottori= Engine
Voimansiirto= Transmission
Jarrut= Brakes
Akseliväli= Wheelbase
Korkeus= Height

It's amazing though how quickly rally cars progressed during the Groub B years. The '82 Quattro won the WRC Manufaturer's and Driver's titles. But by '85, the Sport Quattro S1 was actually slow compared to the competition (Peugeot 205 T16). Even with all its wings and close to 600 horsepower it only won one rally in its entire WRC career.

What spurred me to call it that was a video or TV show I was watching. I can't remember what show it was, but they went to the factory where the R8 engines are built and tested. They put it on a dyno and put it through what I believe was a simulation of a 48 hour race. thing was a beast.
