Looking for something in the 40 to 46 inch range (16:9)

Currently using a 2D Samsung 40" LCD in my racing cockpit setup

Ya might want to stretch that size range the top dog depending on your tastes is either going to be a VT25 series Panasonic plasma or Samsung equivilent and
the Panny starts at 50"...BestBuy has a sweet deal right now, the VT25 50" with the 3D Blueray player and 2 extra pairs of glasses(so you get 3) and Avatar 3D for $1799
I drove the 20 0mi Laguna Seca race last night in 3D and it was sweet, no problems with 2hr 30mins of turn'ng laps

3D drops the frames per second to less than a half, do you really wanna play a racing game at 20-25 fps?

I can't find the thread but I was reading that the PS3 is locked in to 60MHz and wasn't designed to output 3D ... Maybe the problem only exists when you have all of the cars in picture or something like that?

Edit - Although not everything you hear on this forum is necessarily true lol!

Another Edit :P - Although if you read through this thread the PS3 can handle 3D just not effectively?

my advice is to forget the urban legends and such, GT5 works fine in 3D and many of us 3D users will never go back to 2D. That pretty much tells you there are no game stopper issues with 3D game play. For those who insist on 40 bazillion FPS, why are you gaming on a console? buy a serious PC with dual video cards if necessary...its only money
