Yeah, I know, I know, "best" is a very subjective word and all that.

But, here's the thing, a friend of mine is not what you call a good driver, he finds too hard to control anything that's real wheel driven, he wants to do the 4h of Nurb endurance, but he lacks the talent to do them without skidding all over the place, and most of the race cars are, well, too wild for him.

And since 4WD cars are more tamable for a lead footed driver, what are the best options in the game? That nasty S2000 is invincible for his current options.

Three letters: GT-R.

^ The R35 GT-R is a very predictable car. fix the read toe angle so it's about -0.08 - -0.12 and it will be super easy to drive.

I don't like it that much since it's kinda sterile compared to the NSX which is a handful of both butt slipping and fun.

None of the GT-R race cars are 4WD though.

Although the R8, TT, GT-R are 4WD in real life, their race versions aren't.

Taking out the rally cars, your list of 4WD race cars is

Mazda Atenza Touring Car
Mazda Mazda6 Touring Car
Opel Calibra Touring Car '94
Subaru Cusco Dunlop Subaru Impreza #77 '08
Vauxhall Calibra Super Touring Car '94

The ZZII is not a race car but has adjustable downforce (or at least it did in GT4) so could be considered too.

Cuscos barely reach 400ish HP. The same with the Mazdas. That S2k is over 600.

I think there was an Impreza LM Race car that was very good in previous GT, I don't remember if it was 4WD. That car is in the game right? Is it good? Easy to drive?

Yeah, I know, that's the newbies fav car, but he needs more than that :scared:

More downforce, less weight.

When you get into race cars with tremendous amounts of downforce, 4WD isn't really needed. The MR and FR SuperGT cars have tons of grip.

Even Super GT are too wild for him. Really. Anything RWD is out of contest.

Escudo, that thing must handle like a load truck if it is anything like it was on GT4.

The Cuscu Dunlop Subaru Impreza is probably the fastest AWD car, when tuned to the max. It is, at least, the fastest car I know of.
If that doesn't cut it, there's hardly an AWD car that could . The Mine's BNR34 might be able to go faster, I've never maxed it, or maybe the HKS CT230R, but I guess that's about it...

If none of those will do, I'd recommend learning to handle rear wheel driven cars. The GT500 cars are really easy to drive and control, unless he insists on mashing the throttle to the max as soon as he hits the apex of a corner

Basically, though, your friend needs to learn to drive better. Giving him a car to muscle his way through races is not going to help any.

He needs to improve, yeah, no need to say that. But he just bought a new wheel and wants to live the Green Hell experience without dying trying.

I think one of those FTO or Impreza dream cars are his last hopes lol

Gonna comb the UCD to see if they show up

Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring Car is a good drive, really nice to drive, then there's the Impreza Super Touring Car, and the GT300 Impreza of one's I've found.

Ok yeah it's probably not suitale, but the standard rally cars in the game, citroen C4, ford focus etc are all very easy to drive, especially with racing softs on.

Tell your friend to learn how to drive. He's not doing himself any favors by jumping into a race car with his (seemingly) lack of experience and driving skill. You have to learn how to walk before you can run.

It seems like he'd be better suited for any of the NFS games if he's this impatient.

Just got the Impreza Super Touring. Sub 7:45 lap in Nurburgring V should do the job.

I throwed into the mix the -0.08 -0.12 toe adjustment, is this some "standard" 4WD correction or something? Cause it handled quite well, with some camber and torque distribution adjustments, even to my "hate all 4wd" tastes.

If I send the car via ticket will the tuned settings remain?

Then he needs to go into practice mode with a honda civic. You don't learn by jumping straight into race cars.

The subaru GT300 car is AWD and pretty quick. I think the HKS Evo might be AWD, I've never used it though but I assume it's fast. The Alfa touring car is AWD, I think both Audis are FR but I can't spin the TT unless I really want to. The SuperGT cars and the DTM cars are probably the 2 most stable classes of cars in the game, it really takes effort (or total lack of) to mess things up with them. Both classes should be plenty fast for that race as well.

Tell your friend to do laps in a FR/MR car with traction control and ASM on for a while until he/she can slowly turn down the aids. (or even leave them on while driving controllably.) With the DS3 I still keep TCS on at around 2 sometimes with the Group C race cars and crazy cars like the Viper, but practice will make the cars more manageable.

Can they drive FR or MR street cars like BMWs or an NSX? If not, start there and move up.

What is it about internet forums? Whenever someone asks a question why do there have to be egotistical cretins who insist on telling the world that it's the wrong question rather than contributing anything helpful?

It seems like you'd be better suited to reading posts rather than replying to them if you're incapable of answering the questions that are actually asked.

I mean, he is just whatever, he likes to drive, he is not the next Michael Schumacher, he just "plays" the game. No need to be an super exotic skilled player in order to have fun with this. He has an X1, at least he doesn't just throw that into the race, he tries to have fun.

Also there is the Subura Super touring car and the FTO Super touring car and the DTM Alfa Romeo as well as an 03 version of the Cusco Subura which has a couple more HP.

I'm not sure about your restrictions but...

Fastest AWD/4WD: LP560 or the LP670
Easiest and best overall AWD/4WD: EVO X

edit-

For those who say the veyron's the fastest, I give my big fat middle finger with cool whip.
