Hey all

Curious - what would be my best investment on a 4WD vehicle that would get me past most of the 4wd races from Amateur and up?

i have about $120k saved so far......

i got a free evo VI - but i can sup' it up for crap :(

P.S - I will save up for a better 4wd if there are none worth buying in this price range.

Spending 90,000 credits on a prize car Evo VI should yield a machine capable of handling just about anything except racebodied competition, and even some of that.

With 90 kcr, you should be able to get at least 400 hp out of it, with full race transmission and suspension, not to mention lightweight 1 and 2. Add some T2 tires and knock 'em dead, tiger.

^^^ Just sold a vertigo race car - hated it!!

so now i got $450k :D

What about the VII Lancer i just won - worth it to sup that baby up? oir would the VI yield better results?

The VII is faster than the VI...... you dont even need to buy that much,... some tires and a turbo,... that's it 👍

==========EDIT========

Nevermind,. my brain farted,... unless you won the rally version,. you'll need some other parts equiped.

^^^ will the VII get me through a good part of the 4WD races above amateur level?

Also - i am now thinking about buying my 3rd care to finish off amateur and start on the next level - any suggestions?

is the Zonda S worth it or no?

Well the zonda is capable of 1000+ hp with the NA tune.

Besides that I wanna mention 4wd.

The skylines mentioned earlier actually are 4wd.

You just cant get the race cars.

The skyline racers are fr, but the gtr vspec II is 4wd.

I would say that if your gonna go with a evo, get the TME evo 6 gsr.

Thats the best evo in the game.

If you wanna get something really worth your time and money, I suggest that you buy a car that fits your driving style.

If your advanced, buy a ruf rgt. Its rr and difficult for some, but can kick major ass in stock form, and even more with mods.

however, if your dead set on 4wd, get the ctr2 and go to the settings area of the boards to get some tuning tips.

Even without the tuning the ctr2 is more than capable. However, with the tuning, its a beast.

I also want to tell you that you made a big mistake selling that vertigo.

Right now in the third week of the official weekly online racing comp. at this board we are doing a fully moded and tuned vertigo racecar at rome.

The settings are there and trust me, they make a world of a difference I didnt think was possible.

If you can get your hands on that car again, I would and then I would try the settings posted in that race thread.

That car would take you all the way to the pro's with more ease than any car you can buy.

But since its gone...

Buy a ruf like the rgt or the ctr if you want to be cheap.

Plus with the ctr2 you can race rally and road, kicking ass on both.

Good luck.

darn it!.lol - i raced the vertigo a few times but just could not get a comfortable feel for it :(

As for the 4WD - i just wanted a good 4wd to get me though all the 4wd races. , thas about it.

I will take any car that is best for my price range - which is now $440k.

i just tried a few cars - reverting back to a saved game to get my money back - and so far i a not liking the way many handle - this is with various mods to it - first being tires.

i am so used to my RX-7 in my sig - i guess i need a care like that.

just grabbed the ctr 2 trying it out

i had trioed the skyline once before - just could not get a feel for it.

may try it again :) - i ahve not played gt 3 for about a week now, so got to get back into it again :)

I just wanna point something out for you Mr.Guvernment. On your "Current Car" (signiature), you say that the total value is 9,995. That's how much it sells for, but if you quadruple that, you get the buy price (39,980).

^^^ yeah - isn't the total value the total value of all cars uhave in your garage or?

Also the value of the rx7 has to be more then t hat as i have it completly maxed out with all mods - and i know there is more then 25k in mods in it....

I was in the same boat you were in back in June. I would agree with everyone else who has said the skyline r34. It can dish out 1072hp and owns everything including some gt cars. I don't know that much about the lancers but I've heard thier good cars, also check out the Subaru Impreza 22b or Impreza rally car. Both are very agile and can mount some serious hp.

Get something unique. Look at the prize car list and buy something other than those. You'll end up with doubles otherwise.

I would suggest an S4 or CTR2. The TT is also sweet, but others dont like it.

I highly recommend the S4, but you can win one in Amateur TT races.

I used the FTO LM car for the PRo 4wd races.

You could also go for the Mitsubishi VR4 you can get plenty of power in that thing. Will definitely need to widen the gear settings though.

Skylines are better in acceleration, max speed, and cornering than 3000GT's. I find that the car doesn't have enuf revs lol. Somewhat a small amount for such a powerful car when tuned up.

i would suggest the corvette grand sport as when dun up its fast and it can also handle pretty well :p
oh and if u take asm down to 2, and tcs to 1 youll have pretty sweet driftin setup:p

Except for the fact that the Corvette is RWD, not AWD. He's looking for a car that will handle the Pro AWD Cup.

well i used the zzII but then u win that in the mr challenge before it :pso u wouldnt have 2 spend n e money i think thats a pretty good investment:lol:

the ZZII is 4wd..? never notice lol..cause all i use is import cars...lol..i have plenty of greman and armerican cars and others...well i think imports r better than american cars...in my opinon..but if ur looking for a good 4wd car for pro awd try the FTO LM.....its good accel and good cornering...thats how i beat it..i had a 35 second lead over everyone..lol..cause i was playing with the AI pushing them until they slip lol..well just try the FTO LM k...

i say just as long as you have rally lisence do the ss route 5 wet reverse and win the wrx prototype it will kick a lot of computer 4wd in the game it is so fast and handles very well. it has a race body so it has better downforce the the skylines
