What do you guys think are some of the best albums of 2003? (released in 2003)

My answer was going to be Audioslave's album, but I think it was actually released at the end of 2002. I also liked AFI's new album Sing the Sorrow.

Speakerboxxx was decent - not that great.

hmm...I think those are the only new ones in my list - nothing really worth mentioning this year. It seems that the amount of even semi-decent quality releases has dropped like a rock in recent years.

Led Zeppelin - How The West Was Won
Radiohead - Hail To The Thief

Those are the only significant releases I can think of.

As emad said, the quality of good releases has dropped like a rock recently.

Was the new Coldplay 2003? If not, probably APC or Fuel. I haven't really bought many CD's this year, and I'm just guessing on the APC thing.

Oh, and Radiohead too, but I don't have that CD either. "There There" is a kickin' song, though.

Coldplay was mid to late '02.

Radiohead's Hail to the Thief comes to mind. The Jane's Addiction album was pretty impressive (and I must buy it). I don't recall much else - I didn't buy a lot of new music this year.
 
According to ARIA (Australian Record Industry Assocation), the best selling album of 2003 in Australia was Delta Goodrim's Innocent Eyes.

In my opinion, A Perfect Circle's - Thirteenth Step was the only significant album release of '03 though.
 
She got cancer, and apparently pity is a valid reason to buy an album. I must have missed that day at school.
 
She's hot, too. It's too bad her music sucks. Or at least that one song I heard.
 
I imagine her body temperature would be up after chemothe...oh wait, I see what you mean.

The music strikes me as more manufactured dross.
 
how the west was won was THE 2003 recording. along, the white stripes' Elephant, Radiohead's Hail to the thief and the Rapture's Echoes were very good too. OH! I forgot the new album by king crimson, wich rocked too. those.

Oh, The Rapture rock. I haven't picked up their newest CD but I've heard a couple of the tracks.

Top-notch band.
